What do you do on your arrival day?

We always go to the parks on the first day!! Magic Kingdom. You have to see it first!!

We go in, buy DD a balloon (which is way overpriced ;)) and have fun in the park!! And we always eat dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern!

That is our traditional first day.

We usually check in, and if the room is ready go check it out and freshen up...then it's off to the parks...last time we were there we did DHS first but there is usually no set plan. This upcoming trip is the first trip with our WHOLE family....so I am hoping to start some new traditions this time around...can't wait to read other's first day accounts

We usually get in soooooo late that it's just time to get ready for bed and wake up early to hit the parks in the morning!!! However, we would like to change that and plan on getting an earlier flight for our next trip and since we are staying at the WL, we plan on exploring the resort, maybe hitting the pool and then going to DTD for a nice dinner. :thumbsup2 DH and I agreed that it would be so much better to have a relaxing arrival day and get to be early in order to wake up the next morning and hit the parks!

We usually check in Swim in the pool Have a nice dinner And enjoy the excitement of just being there.

This is our plan for our first day...we are getting free dining but it doesnt start till the next day and there are rumors that we might not be able to pick up our tix early...so no park

We should arrive at our resort around 3 or 4 (we will leave NC driving around 5 or 6 am). We will check in get everything in the room. Check out the resort, swim a bit if it is warm (we are going in Jan) and then head to DTD. We will eat at either Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex I have giftcards and neither are on the dining plan. I know DS will want to buy something so I will let him get some legos and mr potato head parts (also he will be able to play with these in the room during the week) and we will check out world of disney and some other stores just to see what they have and will come back later in the week after we have seen what the parks offer. We will try to be back at the resort at a reasonable time so we can get up early and hit rope drop.

We usually check in, check out the resort, (including a nice slow look around the gift shop) and then head to DTD to check out the shops and have dinner.

Doing the same here!

First day at end of Nov. is room only and no park tickets. 7-day MYW w/free dining starts the next day. No problem --> we will check out the resort (CSR) and go to DTD for dinner at T-Rex (pay OOP) that first day. 2nd day is MK.

We get there about 2-3pm. Check in and check with the guest services to see what we can get for dinner at Epcot, we are always willing to try something new and different this first night, and then we head to Epcot for dinner and a couple hours of touring. Bed early to hit Mk the next am.

we drive down from Va so by the time we arrive it's been a long day! :)

We usually, will get checked into and situated into our room, check out our resort and go to either DTD for shopping & dinner, or to a early character dinner @ one the resorts. then we get to bed reasonably early so we can get up nice & fresh the next morning for Rope Drop!

We are going in 30 days and am SOOO excited.:cool1:

Check in at the resort. If the room is ready, we unload the truck. Then it is straight to MK. Gotta walk down Main Street. One time we arrived at 6:00pm and weren't planning to go anywheres and AK was set for the next day. Nope, I had to go to MK just so I knew I had arrived. :thumbsup2

Check in, explore the resort, swim and head to DTD for a little. After that we go for a nice dinner and get in bed early so we ready for rd the next morning.

We check in to the room, freshen up, get lunch (we usually arrive from the airport about noon) and head to MK. It doesn't feel like we're really there until we walk into that park!;)

We've always hit Epcot first. It's a great park for walking and stretching legs after the plane/car ride. After travelling, I'm not much for rides and Epcot has fewer of them. Plus all their food offerings make for a great intro to Disney and vacation. And if mom and dad are in need of a drink after wrestling the little ones for hours, they have tons of beers to offer from around the world. Personally I love Mexico's sangria.

We usually check in in the afternoon and then spend some time checking out the room and taking a walk around the resort. then we usually head to Downtown Disney for some shopping and mild walking to stretch our legs after being in the car for so long.

We do the same thing every time we go:

Check in
Unpack and explore room and view
Explore resort and swim/relax
Go to Chef Mickey's for dinner :cool1:
Ride the monorail
Watch the electric water parade
Get to bed early for MK the next day

I never waste a park ticket on half a day and to me it isn't as fun going in the middle of the day. I like experiencing rope drop and getting pics by the castle early in AM. First day, I like exploring the resort and taking it all in and Chef Mickey's knocks 5 characters out at one time and is so much fun! No lines to wait in for Mickey at MK. This way I am never stress to arrive and if our airline is delayed not a biggie.

We always get the 1st flight out and arrive as early as we can. We hit the pool until our room is ready and then go to a character dinner.

We start the parks the next day.

We always unpack and then go for a swim. Then we get dinner and have a nice relaxing evening after traveling all day so we are well rested and ready to go to the parks the next day.
