Should read 'What do you do on YOUR extra day':

This will be my first trip using the DP. I noticed that you get just enough meals for nights of stay...so six TS for an adult, six CS for an adult, and six snacks for adult on a six night stay, right? Well, how do you work it so that don't end up paying for a meal while you're there? I can think of a few options, I just wondered what everyone did.

I'm thinking we should have a TS meal on our arrival night and then use our remaining CS meal before we leave on our departure day.

You have it exactly right. Usually, if you fly in, you get to Disney in time for a nice TS dinner. Then, on the way out, you have just enough time for a CS lunch. It works out quite nicely.

I agree that this works best.
We, however, usually pay for one meal out of pocket as we usually dine at Emeril's at Universal on our first night in Orlando and then use two table services in one day -- one for a character breakfast and then one for dinner.

We ran out of all of our snacks, table, and counter services at breakfast on the final day...So cash it was!

We usually arrive at WDW before lunch and don't leave until late afternoon on the last day, so we are two meals short. We usually just look at where we are eating and pay oop for what would be our two cheapest meals.

We got in late, after 7pm, so used a CS. We used two TS for CRT and then had an early flight our day of departure so used another CS. We ate several of our breakfasts in the room (brought cereal & bagels). Our last night we had 4 adult CS and 2 child CS & 1 child TS left (she slept thru her 4pm dinner)
We ordered 3 individual pizzas & put them in the cooler to take the next day to airport with us and used the remaining CS for our breakfast befor leaving the hotel in the morning. We found we sooo busy we had a hard time finding time to eat. Also, we weren't all that hungry. I kept individual cheese & crackers and p.b. & crackers with me and they came in handy for rumbly in the tumbly's. I loved the dining plan & only paid cash 1 for a meal, we had no ADR and decided to eat at a restuarant that wasn't on the plan.

Our experience has been similar to what others have already posted. Early afternoon arrival..so one meal that day, and then on the last day usually breakfast and a quick light lunch before flight home.
We have found that we have some snacks and usually four or five CS credits left on the last day..that will happen if you share just a little bit throughout the week!

we normaaly have a fairly early TS the day of arrival, & a late lunch (WPE ~ to tide us over until our next trip:lovestruc ) the day of departure.
we keep some snacks in the room for any munchies.
:)

We always hit the MK on our departure day. We ride our favorite rides, eat our favorite junk food, and I get my pictures of my kids in the locations that I want without huge crowds, then we leave kicking and screaming.

We always end up with extra counter service credits left.

This past Christmas, we checked out of AKV on Dec. 26 & tried to use them up...but couldn't. It's just too much food!! We left WDW with one CS credit left.
