Hi All!

I'm just wondering what you do for the rest of the day once you are on the ship? I was looking over a recent navigator for a 7-day cruise (Thanks Andy and Dave!), and cannot believe how much there is to do that very first evening!

Please tell me what you have done!

Thank you!!

The first night we took it kind of slow and easy.

After the sail away party(held indoors b/c of the weather), we went topside as the ship went up the channel and out to sea(rain had eased off by then), then we had a light bite to eat on deck 9 at Pluto's Dog House. We sat around on deck 9 and relaxed for a bit, then went to our cabin and got ready to see the Dueling Pianos Show, next we went right to late seating dinner.

After dinner we walked around the ship for a while, then went back to our cabin and waited up for our DD b/c she had forgotten her KTTW card. DD went to the teen activity, and came knocking on the door around 1am.

Might not sound like an exciting evening to most, but it was a long day considering I was up and down the whole night before at the Radisson checking the clock, did not want to take the chance of sleeping in late!!! Which was good b/c, when I looked out our window at 5:15am, I could see the Magic coming up the Port Canaveral channel!!! There was no more sleeping after that!!!

make our necessary spa and palo reservations, meet up with other people from these boards, relax, check out the ship....our first cruise..leaves on 9/13.

DH and I wandered all over the ship acting like Japanese tourists. If it didn't move we took its picture. There are so many things to see and do that the time from boarding to sailing flys by.

take pictures eat swin and ofcourse put stuff away in stateroom.

Shrimp, Palo reservations, shrimp, shrimp, dump stuff in room, beer, book, deck chair (with an occasional dip in the pool)....

Disney offer a wide variety of things to do actually.

We had lunch, explored the ship, made some reservations, jumped in the pool, had a great dinner, and enjoyed some after-dinner entertainment.

Oh yes - and we got married!

All in all quite a busy day ;)

Our first day and night are usually filled with that wonderful feeling of being back on DCL. On our most recent cruise we didn't even go up to decks 9 & 10 for sailaway - we did it from our veranda. It was fun being a little closer to the water (we were on deck 6). After dinner we've done the shows or just walked around and enjoyed the ship. DH usually does live reports from the ship so a stop at the internet cafe is in there too. It is usually one of our earliest turn in nights as it is an exciting day and on our 7 day cruises we've flown in same day.

1) we make our ressies at Palo and Flounders
2) eat lots of shrimp at PC
3) go to stateroom to unpack
4) lifeboat drill
5) sailaway party
6) back to stateroom to shower and dress for evening
7) 1st night show
8) shop!!! our family tradition has always been to do our shopping on night 1....also, you get the best choice of sale items
9) Dinner
10) Shutters to check out pics
11)comedy or cabaret show
12)bedtime
