Ahhh... I had my week long Disney excursion and I'm still in the throes of withdrawl. We've been back a month but it seems like it was years ago that we were there! I keep looking through my pictures and souveniers. We've all ready hung the framed artwork on the wall right under my Princess cericel.

We joined DVC while we were down there and I CAN'T WAIT to go home - but that won't be until Dec '04. Which means not only do I have to wait a YEAR until my return, I can't even make the ressie's until Jan!

So for all those unfortuanate people like me who can only go once a year - what do you do while your waiting to go home?

Hi, Ducky4Disney. Although we go twice a year (three times next year), we still go through the withdrawal.

These boards help pass the time for us, as we can talk Disney and DVC with others who enjoy it as much as us!

Also, I find that planning our next trip helps with the withdrawal symptoms!

Hang in there, you'll make it through...

See ya in December '04!

DRIVE MY DW CRAZY!!! READ THE BOARDS, LOOK AT THE WEB SITES THAT HAVE GOOD DISNEY PICTURES.

hI

go crazy --- :earseek:

I was just there in Oct - and believe me the withdrawals are very bad - this is the first time since 91 that I haven't gone to WDW in Dec - boy, I will definitely be there next year!!!

I try to go at different times - favorites are May, Sept, Dec - but I have been there every month except for Jan and Feb (work) -

this is the first year that I tried to go without my Dec trip and IT WON"T HAPPEN AGAIN.....

I would really go crazy if I could only go once at year!

Hi,

I agree with the people here, I going NUTS!!. May seems way off in the distance!!! I post on here & plan things out in my head. I also watch many disney films.

To while away the wait, try sitting down and planning the next ten years of point usage! I did that for the first two years we were members! Everytime I got a little "home" sick, I just pulled out the stuff and started planning trips and who we would invite along. I must have had 50 different master plans!

By the way!

CONGRATULATIONS! AND
WELCOME HOME! WELCOME HOME! :bounce:

We also go through serious withdrawal between trips. We just returned from HH and I must think about it 10 times every day. We are sooo blessed because we can already think about our next trip, in April !
Enjoy the planning aspect of your DVC membership -- it is what makes this experience so unique. If you had a traditional timeshare, you wouldn't have as much opportunity to decide on what time of year, location, size of accommodations, etc.

As far as what I do in the meantime -- I try to visit this site at least once a day. It really helps to be able to share my obsession with similarly situated individuals who aren't saying things like "you're going to disney again?" or "why would you stay at a Disney resort rather than somewhere else?" or "what are you going to do when the kids are grown and gone?"

Enjoy and WELCOME HOME!!!

We just returned from Thanksgiving at VWL and I have just made ressies for March (got a std view at BWV, no waitlist, YES!). That was our 6th trip down but so far I only have a March weekend, 5 days in June, and 3 days for Food and Wine so far and I've used up one of my contracts. I have 70 pts left now at OKW. Idon't know when to use them now, I'm afraid to book them but want to go, I just don't know when. We will mostly be taking June trips for 5 days or so and an extended weekend for Food and Wine but I'm trying to spread our trips through the year so I don't have withdrawals(as bad).

That being said, I visit these boards, look through the guidebook, videos, and dang it, I bought an AP this year so I can surely get a good AP rate on a room but then I'd have to use... Dare I say...cash, and maybe even a, hhhhh, moderate.

Oh gracious, I need more points.

It's good to know that my symptoms are normal and shared by many! We have 270 points at SSR - now I have to use them! Our first trip was 5 nights and the last one was 7 nights. I thought about a small trip in the spring but I'm not sure I could ever go for less now that I've done a week! I might even book a trip to New Orleans through II for the spring time. I'm not sure.

But uintil then, I eat, sleep, read, and LIVE Disney!

We plan on once a year, or once every other year now that we are members. This board has been great, we went this October and it seems like years ago. But we joined DVC, and found this board - its a lot of fun to check in.

I spend much of my time stirring things up on internet message boards.

I feel your pain.

We go every other year -- imagine the withdrawal, to return home knowing it's 18 mos 'til you return! We used to go more frequently, but we decided we liked looong trips better than lots of short ones. And life gets in the way of living, so to speak -- our kids have all sorts of conflicting activities (sports, scouts, school, etc), so timing is difficult. So while we know that every other year is the right plan for us, when withdrawal kicks in, buddy, it's tough to justify that logic!

So, to pass the time, I plan, plan, plan. (DH says I'm an obsessive planner anyway...) And I play with our pts. I visit websites. I read WDW trivia books. I try to think of ways to afford just a few more pts, and if I had them, what I'd do with them. And I live vicariously through others (though through the very green eyes of jealousy!) My dd (age 3) loves to watch the DVC promo video, and the kids watch those Sing-ALong beach party and MK videos... those help. So does going through the pictures of past trips -- just brings that whole happy feeling back! I used to love to walk through the Disney store for that reason... now if they would just improve their merchandise! But that's another thread altogether!

Only another month to go until we can shift 3 days of our next trip over to BCV! And in Feb I plan to try to shift those same days over to SSR... I live for every DVC milestone, what can I say!! And even if we simply stay all 12 days at BWV -- I'll still be happy... I'll be at WDW!

I only have 17 more days until I can go to WDW and I Can't wait!!!:p Right now my work life is a living H*** so dreaming about WDW gives me a lift. If I could just move there, it would solve so many problems!
