What do you do for naps at the DLH?

We have always stayed across the street in a suite of some sort so the kids can nap in one room and we can be awake in another.

For those of you with little ones that have stayed in a standard room, at the DLH or otherwise. What do you do? I'm afraid they won't go to sleep if we are in the same room as them. Have you found you are able to move around, maybe watch tv quietly while they nap?

Somebody on here posted a nifty picture of how they pushed a loveseat across a corner of the room and tented it with a sheet, to make a little separate area for their child, with less visual stimulation. Might have been Bumbershoot? It looked like a good solution.

We like to bring our portable dvd player (this last time I had my laptop with me and we used that), relax on the bed and watch a video with headphones while the kids snooze. We do this at night after they go to bed and while we enjoy a glass of wine.

Well we sort of trick them. We all lay down and turn off the lights and close the curtains, as if we're all going to take naps. We wait for them to fall asleep, which at Disneyland is within minutes and then we turn on the tv or I'll turn on a light and read. 9 out of 10 times DH falls asleep too, lol. There have been times were we've actually all fallen asleep. Once my kids are asleep they'll stay asleep, so turning on the tv or a light doesn't bother them at all.

We do the same thing! And my dh usually falls asleep too!

We already planned what we are doing on our trip in Oct. My DW said she'll take a nap with the kids and i get to head back to DCA for a little single rider action on Screaming!!!!:thumbsup2

That wasn't me! I think it was Carm, though...mommyof2boys1girl, or something like that? Editing: oh no, wasn't her! Just saw her Camelot review bumped up. :)

We started and continue with a family bed, so my guy is used to a noisy room (we all snore, LOL), and although we do keep our voices *down*, we can watch a little TV if we wish, or have a conversation while DS naps in the same room. Other kids will be more particular.

Really, the only people who know how well your kids will do with others in the room is you!

some times my son wont fall asleep, but he usely just rests play with his toy drink rests (some times he will fall asleep)(not at dlh tho diffrent hotle

Heck, I take a nap too! :) If I can't sleep I generally have my Itty Bitty Book Light along too.

I don't have kids, but I love to take naps during our stay.

Like DisneyJamieCA said.. best way is tricking them!
But they'll pass out in minutes after spending a long day at the park :)

We take naps too for sure! Sometimes my DH won't be tired and will go down for a swim. Sometimes we watch TV on low, or even mute. But most of the time, we need a nap too! LOL
