When you arrive in WDW which park do you most often visit on the first day of your trip? :confused3 We usually go to Epcot or the Magic Kingdom.

For us it's always Magic Kingdom!
Walking down mainstreet, passing the confectionary, seeing the castle in the distance...nothing speaks more of "being there" then this! :earsgirl:

Animal Kingdom. We usually start our stays unwinding at AKL, so AK is the natural choice (plus we LOVE it). Then we move over to an Epcot or MK resort after a few days, and start seeing the other parks. :goodvibes

Last time we went to MGM first. It's not our favorite park so I'm not sure why we went there first....I can't remember.

Well,
personally I would say it depends on where you are staying and how long.

For example, when I stayed at the Yacht Club resort, I first went to Epcot because I could go there by foot(and thats really cool!). Since I had a bad jetlag (Germany/Florida is quite a bit) I enjoyed the walking and the ability not to wait for any bus or something like that.

Also I might add, if you stay only for 4 days I would really plan this through, if you stay for 3 weeks, it doesn´t really matter what to see first.

Personally I studied Japanese so I usually go to Epcot(Every Paycheck comen on Thursday as they say there :rotfl2: )
first to eat some sushi ;)

hi
having travelled a long distance from the freezing u.k. we usually go to a water park just to catch up on some sleep and find some sun :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Normally we usually wind up at DTD for the first thing. Then the first park is a toss up between AK and MK.

EPCOT is pretty much always first. DD10 has to get her fix of riding Spaceship Earth to make the beginning of the trip official. For our trip this coming January we're planning Magic Kingdom first and DD is already protesting the change! Some habits die hard I guess. ::MinnieMo

For us it is always MK. To do otheriwse for us would just be weird for us.

I like to go to MK to see the castle first! I have gone to MK just to see the castle and left to go to Epcot! We may do that on this trip too!

We have always done the Studios first (well, since they have been there at least). When I made my itinerary for this trip, I couldn't help it and put the Studios in for the first day again.

In July, we went to MGM first. On Friday, we'll be going to MGM first. Why? My kids (and DH and I) LOVE Rock N Roller Coaster. It is their favorite ride and it is what they look forward to the most. We usually go back and forth between RnR and ToT a few times and then venture out into other areas of the park. Hopefully, we'll be able to see the Osborne lights and maybe Fantasmic (might be crowded on Friday night, though). Two more days - can't wait!

Are we the only ones who do not go straight to a park? We spent arrival day at our resort, exploring the grounds, then we had dinner at Chef Mickey's. Our kids insist that be our tradition from now on. Of course, we ride the monorail all around to see Cinderella Castle and Spaceship Earth. That gives us that "we're at Disney!" feeling.

Magic Kingdom.

I don't know why, but I have to do the parks in the order that they opened. Day 1-MK, Day 2-EPCOT, Day 3-MGM, Day 4-AK, and the rest of the days are a free for all-any park or multiple parks per day.

Last trip I let my DH pick so we went to MGM first to go on RNR (one of our favorites) and the rest of the trip just wasn't the same.

I don't like using up a park day for just the first night as we usually arrive midafternoon by plane. So that night we usually do DTD/PI and take the monorail around to see the castle and SSE. But the first park to go in is always MK. I swear you're just not in WDW until you walk down Main Street and to the Castle.

This time I'm taking my 4 year old cousin, so I doubt I'll be able to get away with not going in that first night. She's already so excited it's unbelieveable. Poor kid still has a month to wait!

I've been to WDW once, so when I went the first park we went to was Epcot because it was on a Monday and there fewer people at the parks.

Are we the only ones who do not go straight to a park?

Nope, for some weird coincidence, we seem to end up at DD first. I stop at Basin and get some neat bath and lotion stuff for my vacation, esp. when we stay in a 1 bedroom villa with jacuzzi, the fizzy balls are neat. We walk around a little there. We get a free candy from Girardelli's and a Lemonade and pretzel. Then depending on the time of day and what we feel like doing, we go from there. Gee, this sounds weird even to me!!! :teeth:
