What do you do at CC?

I saw that they have snorkeling, parasailing, jet skis, etc. Are these expensive? Do you reserve them ahead of time? Which are your favorites?

Thanks!

Last year, I booked the singray and it was canceled (too cloudy for them to be active). This year I booked parasailing and glassbottom boat, both were canceled. Last year I did the snorkeling, which is fun if you don't mind the fish being really close to you (unfortunately there are lots of misguided people who think its fun to feed the fish) and bike rental (lots of fun). This year, I ran the Castaway Cay 5k (free, but you have to sign up) and that was a lot of fun. Especially since they upgraded the medal to say Castaway Cay 5K instead of the just the generic Mickey winner medal. If you wan to do the snorkeling/biking, I would recommend waiting until the day of to sign up since they never run out of them. However, I don't think you can cancel them if you did sign up.

You can see excursion options and pricing here: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/bahamas/list/castaway-cay/

To me the excursions were too expensive. We had a blast just hanging out without doing any excursions. We did book a massage last minute, but we probably won't do that again because the cost is so high and just being on the island is relaxing enough.

We've been to CC several times and usually run the 5K and then relax at the family beach all day. My kids enjoy the jungle gym with monkey bars. One time we rented bikes and rode around the island which was fun. If you enjoy the beach you really don't need to book an expensive port adventure to have a great day at CC IMO.

I always do the 5K which is free. Afterwards I might go snorkeling but my favorite activity was kayaking. I don't remember the cost but it was worth it.

I have done all of those. Both jet skis and parasailing are expensive, but are worth doing, in my opinion. Vacations are all about making memories, and I'll never forget or regret that I spent the extra money. Snorkeling is fun, too, but it's not my favorite thing to do in the world. I LOVE the water, but find that it's quite a ways to go to find the cool underwater stuff. Especially when you're also trying to keep an eye on a child at the same time. We fed the stingrays on our first trip, and that was also unforgettable and quite a bit cheaper than jet skis / parasailing. My favorite thing to do at CC? Hang out in the water on an inner tube and lazily float around, then dry off in a hammock and take a little Castaway Nap. This time, DH and I are repeating the jet ski excursion, mostly because it's been a while and we really did have a good time when we did it last. DS is now a teen, and is planning to do the Wild Side excursion with the rest of the teens.

I've been four times and never signed up for an excursion until this past November. I wanted to try jet-skiing. We ended up backing out last minute because they gave us the option of a full refund as the seas were rough. (I have no experience on jet skis and I had my son with me so I decided I didn't want to risk it.) That being said, we swim, snorkel, nap in the shade on the beach, shoot hoops/play checkers/foosball, eat lunch, rent bikes, get ice cream-multiple times, definitely order a conch cooler, swim some more....so much to do. (My son wants to do the CC 5K next time, I guess I better start running again so I can keep up)

Has anyone done the glass bottom boat excursion? Wondering if it's worth it. My adult DD would like to do this but I'm thinking we'd prefer to not schedule too much. We are doing the stingray experience early in the day.

Besides what has been mentioned we like to sit in the shade at Serenity Bay and read. Since it has rained the last three trips, we like to wait it out since just about everybody goes back to the ship and the place is beautiful when it's empty and the sun comes back out.

We just did our second cruise, and I booked the kayaking excursion. It was absolutely fantastic! There were only 30 of us and we had a private guide who walked us to a secluded/private beach where our kayaks were waiting. Then we kayaked to another private beach. We felt like the only people on the island. It was an amazing experience with beautiful scenery and well worth the cost, IMO. I would highly recommend it!
