What do you do after you check out, and you are not ready to say good-bye???

We (DH, and 3 children under 13) have a quick trip planned in November, and I am trying to plan something to do after we check out of our hotel (POR). We are not in a hurry to get anywhere, but will not have a park pass for that day. Any ideas to help us enjoy the Disney magic for one more day???

How about the Disney Marketplace? We always have a nice time walking around and checking out the shops there. :flower:

We sometimes take a ride in the monorail. You can always check out the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary Resorts while you're on your monorail trip too. The DTD idea is a good one also. :wizard:

Check out and head to WL to eat lunch at Whispering Canyon. That always puts me in a Disney spirit. Then head out to DTD and just explore until it's time to go.

How about a late character meal @ the Poly and a monorail ride? Or a luch @ Chef Mickey's? You could also rent a water mouse and cruise the lake from the Poly.

Have a great trip!

We are doing a character breakfast this time at the GF with Mary Poppins and the gang, one time we did the ohana breakfast with mickey and the crew and last time at the swan my dh and the 3 ds wanted to go play mini golf. I just wanted to hang out at the resort because I had done all the repacking and was tired. Depending on your flight time or the time you need to hit the road, you could squeeze in some shopping at dtd, lunch at the rainforest there etc. Go over to Fort Wilderness for breakfast and a pony ride etc. They will store your luggage for you at the resort until you leave if you need that service.

Another vote for DTD marketplace. We always stop there on the way out...get some lunch...final purchases....and DD prints out some final potato heads and builds one last lego creation. :)

It is the monrail for us. A nice last ride around the park and hotels.

Our goodbye is different from above. First we go to MGM and ride TOT several times before saying goodbye there. Then we head over to MK, go through the castle and over to HM. Ride HM and then go on TTA. After that we hit Buzz--since DS was 5 this has always been our "last ride". We then go to the ice cream shop on Main Street and sit outside with one last longing look at the Castle. Then we cry on the bus back to pick up our things!

we are going to have breakfast at 'ohana and then we will drive over to DTD and shop until we need to leave for the airport.

These are some great ideas, thanks!

Are there any character lunches that are not in the parks?

One last visit to the theme parks to say good bye is too hard for me  so we finish our trip with a final shopping spree and lunch at DTD.

I have one more suggestion - go to Fantasia Gardens and play a round of mini-golf. We always have fun there.

Another vote for DTD. This last trip our flight out was not until late afternoon. We drove over to DTD, watched a movie, ate, walked around then left for the airport...smjj

You don't have to pay park admission to go to the Downtown Disney marketplace right?

No you don't. They have some really great shopping there and some really cool shops.

Great ideas so far! Definitely ride the monoral. Rent some water mice. BIG fun! Maybe a special lunch. A round of Mini Golf. DTD, too. Our all time favorite was stopping by that Belz outlet and being to buy LOTS of cheap souvenirs to remember the trip by.

There is a character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)...maybe you could make a PS for the latest seating and have a "brunch."

I don't think they have a character lunch, but I could be mistaken.

This is depressing. We drive to and from WDW so we usually just pack up and leave. On leaving day, I am so envious of all of the people who are just beginning their vacation. I don't feel like I belong anymore.....knowing that I have to leave very soon.
