What do you consider a "large contract"?

That is good. I have to tell you I wouldn't mind owning where we feel most at home. I can see many difficulties making that happen but it is a pleasant thought.
You know, I don't know why one of us didn't look at this before...but

You could accomplish better than the "even swap" you were looking for just by selling your VWL and purchasing OKW resale.

VWL is listing in the mid-70's. OKW is listing in the mid-60's. You could sell VWL, pay the 10% commission, buy an equal or possibly slightly larger OKW contract...and have a little money left over. Plus, you'd have lower annual dues.

I don't think this is as hard as you're making it.

I wasn't trying to make it hard. This idea was just born today and I wasn't sure how it all worked. You are right though. I come out ahead if I sell and I would not have to wait for the stars to align.

I am assuming that the best time to sell my contract would be when I have most of the current year's points available. That happens Dec. 2011. If I skipped a spring trip and went somewhere else it would give me until April to sell before I had to book my November OKW trip.

In 18ish months I could be an OKW owner. Intriguing. Now I have to convince the wife it will be worth the hassle.
