What do you carry with you?

Are you a fanny pack person? Do you just bring your purse? Wear a backpack? How do you lug everything around the parks?

When DH and I went a few years ago we found the BEST lunch box/backpack. It was absolutely perfect!!! It was a little larger than a regular lunchbox and was insulated so it kept our drinks nice a chilly all day. It also had strap that had a zipper down the middle that would unzip so it could be carried like a backpack. It was very light and you barely even noticed wearing it. We could fit two large water bottles, our panchos, sunscreen, a few snacks, camera, and a wallet in just perfectly. :lovestruc

Only problem... I have NOOOO clue where it is and don't remember the brand to buy another one!!! :headache: Somewhere on our move from Texas to Virginia the bag got lost and is no where to be found. I originally bought it at Target but I don't think they carry them any longer, well, at least the one here doesn't.

So, any suggestions on a new replacement or know where I could find one of the bags like I used to have? What works best for you?

Wife carries camera.

Pockets filled with:
Cell phone
KTTW card
Small bottle of sunscreen
Wallet.

No bag needed. :thumbsup2

We travel as light as possible. If it doesn't fit im my wallet or pockets I don't need it.

Backpack stuffed to the gills (but to be fair, my DSLR camera and all it's accessories take up the bulk).

Oh, and I schedule a massage for the week after we get home ;)

I use a very small backpack. I think I had purchased mine at Walmart. It is pink and brown. It really was the perfect size and never bothered me on my back while touring the parks.

Credit card and room key in the back pocket. Chapstick in the front one. I'm good to go. DH carries the camera.

It really depends on the day and how long we are planning on being at the parks. At most, DH has a back pack with my camera back pack and whatever else we need inside. Usually, I end up carrying my back pack and he carries the other.

Last trip I found that most nights, my camera pack was plenty. There was only one time I regretted this - when it started raining at Epcot one night during evening EMH. But it wasn't that big of a deal.

You might try ebags for the backpack/lunch thing. Search for backpack cooler and see if anything looks familiar.

Our big backpack has one side zip that is insulated for cold drinks, and the other side is a mesh bottle holder, so one water is always easy to get to. We got it at Target.

I use a small backpack check out

OR

I like having the small backpack for all our snacks and water too.

Thanks! There are a few that look like they might just work on the ebags!

:rotfl2: I'm sure all those camera parts can get HEAVY!!!

I wish I could find this bag! It was huge and we had it stuffed and it never hurt our backs once like most bags do. I'm googling and googling to no avail.

Wow!!! Those of yall that can fit it all in your pockets amaze me!!! I feel like I have to bring way too much junk with me, just in case :lmao:

With no little kids, we can travel pretty light. I use a mini backpack (it's size of small-medium purse with lots of compartments/zipper pockets, etc.) It's black and definitely a back-pack (bought it deliberately for that reason so hubby will sometimes carry it for me...if it looked like a purse it'd be a no-go, lol.) It fits in the package pouches on rides with no issues, too.

Carry a few basic meds like ibuprofen, allergy, rolaids...also bandaids, couple of blister bandaids, hard candy, small sunscreen, room card/credit card/ID, cell phone, pen/piece of paper, park maps/schedule, folding hairbrush, tissues, clear lip gloss, dining ADR numbers/times. Maybe a cereal bar or two if we're running around a lot that day & might need a snack on the go. Hubby carries Nikon coolpix camera in a case around his neck (very small, no extra lenses or anything)

We quit carrying beverages in with us several trips ago...figure the $2 for a bottle of water is affordable, especially since half the time we don't need it (fill up on drinks at meals) Course we don't go during the very hottest time of the year, but even in September, we'd just buy one bottle of water & share it. No sense carrying all that extra weight/bulk on the busses & all over the parks. If we got thirsty in the park, we'd split a beverage on the spot.

I bring a purse or a small backpack. My mom always brings her Mickey Mouse fanny pack and carries it over her shoulder like a purse. According to fashion police wearing a fanny pack around your waist is a big fashion don't and comes with the stereotype that wearing it there makes you look like a clueless tourist. However, not everyone follows fashion "rules."

I bring my sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, wallet, key to the world card (you won't have one if you're not staying on property), hand sanitizer, tissues, lotion, breath mints, water bottle, and camera. My mom tends to bring a tiny air freshener spray because Disneyland (not so much WDW) has bathrooms that constantly smell of baby poop and not everyone wants to use the restroom if they can't breath. She also brings her work cell phones/blackberry and reading glasses (for menus).

No need for a cell phone unless you seriously need to make a phone call/text or are expecting one while out enjoying yourself on vacation. To me it sounds more distracting than relaxing but sometimes you bring them in case of emergency. It makes sense to bring one if your job requires you to have your cell phone always or if you don't own a watch or if you are an app obsessed iPhone owner.

Many people tend to bring these cool rugged outdoorsy looking backpacks that have water in them like a camel hump with straws on straps. I've seen more of these in world than land. In Disneyland Yoda backpacks that make it look like Yoda is riding on your back as in "The Empire Strikes Back" are very popular. They have Chewbacca and R2D2 ones too.

I bring:

park ticket/room key
AMEX card
driver's license (never needed it, though, so I don't know why)
small squirt bottle of sun lotion
cell phone
family members wearing clothing with pockets-I am done being a pack mule.

I do a sling bag camerabag. My wife uses a camera bag. Our kids use a sling bag. The kids are not allowed to take them off so they dont lose anything. They just slide it around the front of them for rides.

In 2006 I bought a draw string bag from Disney World and I have been using it ever since.

It's just about the right size and the straps are a little thicker than plain old strings so it really doesn't kill my back.

I think that having a backpack with 2 straps is the way to go for disney, because 1 strapped bags like purses and such leave your shoulders in lots of pain.

I always carry a ton, especially now that we have DD with us....although the stroller basket does come in handy ;) I usually carry a huge purse (currently the medium-szied D&B white sketch purse) and in it is my wallet, cellphone, bottle of water, my camera, pack of gum, extra batteries, Tylenol, Pepto, chapstick, extra makeup, and a couple extra diapers. Dad carries a backpack with the diapers, wipes, snacks, his camera, lunches if we take them, and bottle of water. He also wears a fanny pack (I know, I know) with the villa keys, wallet/money, and receipts or other important papers. My mom also carries a large purse with the sunscreen and things she needs. I also take a fleece for myself and a sweatshirt for DD on our January trips. DF takes the least, with just a cellphone and wallet in his pockets.

I'm a fanny pack user, and really couldn't care less if the fashion police don't like it. I'll never see them again, so I wear what I'm comfortable with. ;)

I travel light as well. A very thin wallet that I got from Target that I can carry in my pocket. The more you haul the more time you spend in the bag check line featuring personal time with a security guard.
