My original question was going to be: Do we need to bring light jackets for night time activities at the park? We will be there Sep 16-20th. Just not sure if it cools down at all at night.

Anyway, that got me to thinking....What all do you carry around with you through the parks?

I'm a mom to DD4 so also what to carry for her!

Just off the top of my head:

-travel sized suntan lotion (to reapply after sweating/playing in water)
-lip gloss
-LOTS of antibacterial hand wipes
-sunglasses/hats
-disposable ponchos
-gum/candy
-snacks
-water (we use a Camelbak so the water is in the bladder of the pack)
-tissues
-$
-park tickets/KTTW/Photopass (actually I keep these in a lanyard)
-Shout wipe/Tide to Go pen (so you are spot free in pics!)
-digital camera w/extra batteries and memory card
-misty mate fans w/extra batteries
-glow sticks
-ADR #s
-park maps
-email addresses (to send emails from Innovations in Epcot)
-cell phone
-nail file
-quarters and pennies (for pressed pennies)
-bandaids
-Neosporin
-drink mix packets (kool-aid, crystal light, etc)

Oh, and please note that I am an overpacker (in case you couldn't tell already :rolleyes1 ) so you might not feel the need to carry all these items around. We had a stroller for DS2, so we just threw the bag under the stroller and went. Have a great trip!

All of the above plus Rolaids, Tylenol, and driver's license (on the off chance that a CM will actually ask to see an ID when I use my debit card:) )

There's a great list on allears.net - it's called something like "What to Tote Around in the Parks." Has lots of suggestions - you can edit as needed.

For me, I bring:

  • sunscreen
  • sunglasses
  • hat
  • misty mate
  • lip balm
  • moleskin
  • extra socks
  • wet wipes
  • nail clippers/emery board
  • money
  • list of ADRs
  • bandana (to soak in ice water to cool off)
  • digital camera
  • cell phone
  • park pass
  • ID
  • long-sleeved denim shirt
I found the denim shirt worked better than a sweatshirt or jacket on my last trip. It's lighter weight than a sweatshirt, the sleeves roll up, you can wear it buttoned or unbuttoned, and it packs much smaller than a sweatshirt or jacket. Rolls into my messenger bag or backpack very easily.

We try to take as little as possible.

cell phone
camera (extra batteries)
suntan lotion
license/debit card/disney reward card
health insurance card
park tickets
medications/my son's inhaler
small hand sanitizer

and usually a bottle or two of water, but I just purchased the camelbak for my upcoming trip in 18 days.

My dh and I share our items between our two fanny bags so neither one of us has a heavy bag. We take:
*cheap ponchos
*billfolds or wallet
*tube of vaseline for lips
*peppermint mints incase we get an upset stomach
*daily itenery on a 3X5 card with ADR numbers on it
*hand wash gel
*the park map and show times scheule
*camera
*cell phone
*bandaids/ pre cut pieces of moleskin/ body glide
*Tylonal or advil
*a tube of tide spot eraser
* and ofcourse our tickets (the keys to the magic) LOL
have a great time but seriously consider two of you wearing fanny bags and it is so much easier. Enjoy

I always take a travel pack of baby wipes. I can not tell how many times we had to wipe off tables (counter service restaurants) during lunch rush. The CM's do not always have time to wash each table when people are sitting down as soon as the table is free. I usually put a little anti bacterial gel on the table and then wash it with the baby wipe. :laundy:

Great thread.

I carry some of the above in our backpacks, along with my Passporter. I love that crazy thing! If I ever lost that, I'd be in big trouble!

I forgot to mention that we also carry the Hidden Mickeys book on the last half of our trip. We stay for twelve days (which isn't long enough but I will take it LOL) so the first five days we stay very busy than the last 7 days we slow down so we take time to look for hidden mickeys. It is actual fun. Try it.

Change of clothes for the little kid
tylenol
lifesavers
sunglasses or glasses (whichever I am not wearing At themoment)
camera
cell phone
a couple of bandaids
health insurance card
drivers license
park tickets
money
credit card

I use a fanny-pack. Got to be stylin at Disney!;) Anyway I carry in it:

Park pass
Debit card
Credit card
Cash
Drivers License
Kleenex
Advil
Immodium
Inhalor
Camera

And believe it or not, it is just a normal size fanny-pack.

This is what I've packed for my park backpack:

- Digital camera (in it's case with extra memory cards and batteries)
- Camcorder (with extra tapes and batteries)
- Cell phone
- A small notebook with ADRs, hotel info, ticket info, iteneraries, etc.
- Park maps
- Autograph book
- Pen, pencil, highlighter
- Keychain calculator
- Keychain LED light
- Keychain mister fan (so awesome!)
- A snack-sized ziploc bag containing: Band-aids, pre-cut moleskin, cardboard nail file, wet wipes, Tylenol, Bepto Bismol, Dramamine, safety pins
- A make-up bag containing: make-up, small deodorant, sunscreen, Tide-to-Go pen, hand sanitizer, chapstick
- My mickey wallet, which holds: park tickets, hotel key, cash, debit card, and ID
- Snacks (granola bars and fruit leather)
- Bottled water

It seems like a lot, but the snacks and water will be gone by the afternoon, and once you get it all organized it's easy to find stuff. Pretty much everything is in it's own separate ziploc bag. I don't want to risk anything getting wet, and I definitely don't want to have to dig around for my cameras, so I organized everything so that they're always on top of everything else.

My boyfriend is going to be carrying the ponchos and sandals (for water rides) since he won't be carrying any of the emergency stuff like me.

park tickets
room keys
hand sanitizer
band aids
blood stop ( it's a spray that stops skined knees from bleeding almost instantly)
small sunscreen
camera
sunglasses
small notebook with all of my ressie info
cell phone
pen
tinted chapstick for me, regular for the boys
gum for DH the ex-smoker
snacks for the kids
benadril pen ( it stops bug bite iches instantly )

We always carry ziplock baggies. Either quart or gallon size. This is to put the water sensitive things in during water rides or rainstorms. Items such as phone, camera, tickets and tissues (to keep them dry) will go into the baggies.

I usually also bring a washcloth from the hotel room to wipe off our glasses when they get wet.

We carry:
* Wallet - money,credit cards,tickets,etc.
* Hand Sanitizer
* Sunglasses/Glasses
* Keys
* Carmex
* Mist Spray Fan
* Candy
* A pen
* Cell Phone
* Disposable Cameras
* Sunscreen

I think we carry some other stuff aswell but this is all that I can think of.
OH yeah,we use a canvas tote bag *it's not that bag,but big enough to carry everything we need*:goodvibes

:lmao: I HATE carrying anything around amusement parks.
Seriously, I am not carrying anything! And I refuse to wear a fanny pack!

Luckily, kids are 12,9 & 7. Things would certainly be different if we had younger children.

DH is wearing cargo shorts...in goes Elph digital camera & cell phone in a baggie for wet rides. His wallet w/ cash/cc in another pocket. Baggie w/ sunscreen wipes in another for afternoon application.

I am going to buy lanyards w/ the little ziploc pouches for everyone at Walmart (someone said they are a buck or 2) for KTTW cards/ID.

We are on DDP, so shouldn't need snacks, but plan to pay OOP for some special ones if they want. Free ice water at CS. I will wear shorts/capris w/ pockets for maps.
