I'm planning our list for items that well bring into the parks each day. I want to be minimalist, but I also will be going with two young kids this time. Our first WDW trip with littles. Dd will be 6, and DS will be 3. It will also be three adults. Me, my husband, and my mom. We are definitely renting a double stroller, bringing a stroller rain cover and two parent consoles to hold cups/bottled water.

What else will we need besides ponchos and snacks for the kids?

Thanks!!

Sunscreen, no matter the season
sunglasses or a hat
a change of clothes,(wet rides or fountains)
camera
autograph book (maybe)
if you use your phone as a camera -you will want a portable battery charger
wet wipes - for both kids and tables
flashlight - it can be hard to read the maps at night and some of the trails and paths are dark too

Water bottles
Don't forget the pen for the autograph books
Something to do in line (Iphone/ipod)
my kids loved wearing costumes into the parks
plenty of snacks

This seems like a lot but our entire bag actually fit in a 2 gallon size baggie when we went on water rides. We also carried a couple of small waterproof camping bags that we put our cell phones and cameras in within our backpack on water rides. We wanted to make sure nothing got wet!

Between me and DH, one of us wore a lanyard with all of family's kttw cards, cc, and small amt of cash, and one of us carried the backpack. That way, neither of us was totally without cash when we separated. With magic bands we’ll have to rethink this strategy.

Pen
paper (folded up)
bandaids
antibacterial ointment
ibuprofen
mints/gum
gas-x for eating out
maps & extra napkins we picked up
sm container of bug spray
ponchos
sunscreen
carmex
small amt of cash
tube of pennies & quarters for pressed pennies
extra ziploc baggies
a snack or 2 depending on plans
bottle of water or 2 to share
extra outfit for young kids in baggies
2 cameras
baggie full of wipes

Half the time we also carried DD's mouse ears & fanny pack with her money & autograph book/sharpie

I also carried & just tossed away a couple of wash cloths each day which we used for many different reasons during our trip- to wash a cut, dry off a bench, wash/dry off a table, etc. I even made a puppet out of a wash cloth to entertain my restless son while we waited for Fantasmic!

Like I said, all of this fit in a 2 gallon baggie. Our bag was a backpack we got out of the camping section that condensed down to the size of a fist. The only complaint was it made DH’s back sweaty.

Myself, DH, two 11yr olds and a 4 yr old:

-Cinch sack bags for their flip flops (to wear on water rides like Kali River and Splash Mountain)
-Phone charger thing
-baggie of tylenol and immodium
-print out of ADR times and #s
-cell phone
-driver's license
-some cash

Here’s what we usually take into the parks with us:

In our Pockets
Driver’s license, credit cards, cash, confirmation numbers, etc in wallet
Earplugs
Gum
Lip balm
In small zippered pouch: travel size anti-bacterial gel, individual hand wipes, bandaids, moleskin, Rx and OTC (Imodium chewables and antacids, Tylenol)

Wear
Magic bands
Sunglasses and visor
Water bottle on lanyard over shoulder
Camera, extra camera card and battery pack in camera case hooked to belt loop

In Small bag
Snacks
Kleenex travel pack
Wash cloth
Ponchos
Sunblock
Ziplocks for phones and camera (water rides, rain)
Glowsticks, light toys

Sometimes, we do not carry the bag, just stuff our pockets and go. :)

I am a minimalist as well.... this is what I bring.... my kids are the same age 6 & 3

change if clothes for bottoms.... (pants/sweatshirt in case it turns cold, and underwear/shorts in case of an accident for my 3 year old)

a princess dress to put on later

glow sticks if a night in the park

Tervis cups, empty, and Mio water enhancers (take advantage of the free water so you don't have to carry water bottles)

snacks

ponchos

small Ziploc that has our first aid stuff in it

I wear my Vera Bradley cross body hipster that has my phone, camera, a printed out hard copy of our reservations (dining and FP), and wallet in it, and used to carry tickets but now we have the bands

I don't carry sunscreen bc we put it on in the room, we also tan very well and don't typically burn

Frozen bottles of water, Frogg Togg towel, first aid kit - small one sold at Target in the travel section. Zip lock bag to put used, wet poncho's in.

Sunscreen - apply in the room, and some to carry for reapplication later on.

Wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and a old hand towel cut in half or thirds to dry hands, benches, tables. We would just throw them away at the end of the day. I normally would have a couple of old ones that I would save for the trip.

A change of clothing for each kiddo, if you are going commando, maybe 2 outfits. flip flops for the water rides and fountains. large Ziploc baggie to put them in, work for ponchos as well.

We used a soft sided cooler, that folded up for travel. We would put in juice boxes or Capri suns, we used the gel ice pack thingys. Bring 2 so you can rotate them.

Some OTC med's for grown ups, and little tummies as well. Band-Aids, neo to go.

Snacks, - stay away from things that melt easily.

Something to do while waiting in line, stick with small things - and only use these item while in line so they don't get bored with them.

Glow in the dark necklace and bracelet, pick up at the dollar store. will save you a ton, and maybe you can share with someone else while waiting for the parade to start.

Camera, extra batteries

Extra Ziploc for phones, camera or anything else you don't want to get wet on the water rides. Also wet outfits.

Check the weather sometimes, it will be 80 then drop down into the 50's so be prepared if needed with jackets or sweaters.

Put something on your stroller so you can find it easily, I had this awful scarf that was neon that I tied on the handle made it easier to find. Its funny though I was asked a lot where did I get it at... :rotfl:

Above all bring your inner kid, patience's and have the time of your life.

Have a magical trippixiedust:
