Have called several times 001-407-939-3463 to make ADR's for our august trip but you have to enter your reservation number OK then POUND. I dont understand we dont have pound on the phone. Before I blow a gasket and loose all sense of Disneyness please help. I am sitting here wondering if I am being a complete idiot??? I would appreciate ALL help asap before I am left with no sense of humour....:sad2:

Sam,

Thank you, thank you. As Steve wright says, mupperty... I cant believe I was looking for a £ sign!!!! Although I cant be the only one who had no idea what it was..... Now I know.Hash means pound!??

I got all my adrs and am looking forward to our free DDP or as some call it the daft DP!! It certainly feels that way booking 6 months ahead of time for FOOD!

Thanks again, you are a star,:thumbsup2

Why do you have to book so far ahead? Is it just for DDP or do we need to book a long way in advance. We have never made ADRs from the uk before and usually just book a day or so in advance when we are there. Often been to Marrakesh with no adr at all. Has the DDP meant that everything will be booked when we get there in April? If so looks like we might already be too late!
We are not doing DDP cos disney wouldn't let us with the great AP rate we got at AKL.:confused3

Glad you got it sorted ~ What ADRs have you booked?

most people book that far ahead because,
a, they want to feel closer to their holiday
b, they know which park they're going to be in on that day
c, they might as well get a sit down meal booked rather than get stuck with couter service
d, they're planning obsessives who want to be completely organised :rotfl2:

you don't NEED to book that far away if you're flexible and its not going to ruin your wholeholiday if you don't actually get to eat in sci-fi/le cellier/cindys/whichever sit down is on your 'must do'. as long as you're aware that a lot of DDp peeps will book (a lot will also not turn up for a specific meal so theres always a chance you'll get in 'on the hoof')

Oh Sam and Florence,

Thank you for being interested in our Adrs. We are going the last two weeks of August (am worried its going to be v. hot and sweaty (!) having been in Oct/Nov before and enjoyed it we think we know.
what we are in for but its better to go than not to go!)

The reason I have booked so far in advance is you can change/cancel but due to daft(Johnny!)disney dining I wanted to cover ourselves so we can take advantage of eating lots of shrimp/steak and sitting in air conditioning!!!

so this is what we have booked!!
Boatwrights our first evening as we are staying at riverside.
O'hana the next night, a couple of nights later Nine Dragons, then California Grill. Then Boatwrights for a late Breaky with Kona cafe in the evening. Then the last two evenings booked are the teppanyki at Epcot and then last night at Narcoosses. This is over 12 days!!!

I am sure we will cancel several and end up having a burger at the foodcourt at riverside, then settling down with a glass of wine watching Bob the pianoman which we did at least four times last time we were there!!!

Its so exciting.... I cant wait, now its the car hire next, not so interesting to organise!!

Thanks for your interest, and Oh yes I am a control freak, like to have it all organised!!!:flower3:

Excellent choices there:thumbsup2

We've been in early August and although hot it was not too bad. As you say, it's better to go than not to go.

We went the middle of August last trip and yes it is hot so drink loads but it's wasn't too bad as we're going again this year  What evening are you at Kona Cafe? I'm meeting some Dis friends on the 25th and then we're having cocktails on the beach for anyone that wants to join us you're most welcome!

Jo,

We are going to kona on the 26th at the moment. Maybe we should have a mini dis meet on the beach with cocktails???? that sounds v tempting and you are kind to offer, we may just come and say Hi and leave you and your friends to enjoy the evening.

Have you any other tips for August? Our dd is 14 and not good in the mornings!! she never has been, me and dh are like the kids up and dressed raring to go and shes still in bed!!:hippie: I realise mornings are always best at Disney especially in the summer...

Its so exciting, the only problem is I am wishing away the year as I cant wait for that great feeling the first evening you are actually there.

Roll on august,

happy times, prue:cloud9:

My DH is so worried that the Dissers I'm meeting will be axe murderers :rotfl2:

Tips for August, well obviously you know it's going to be hot, humid and very sticky so drink loads, slap on suntan lotion etc etc, also try and do hot rides first and air con rides a bit later also even though you've got an older DD a swim break in the middle of the day is great also you must do BB or TL or both  as we just don't have any water parks here! As you said it is best to get there early, in 2005 we got so much done between 9 and 11 before the crowds really get busy. Also from experience the EMH nights are really packed and for us were not worth it. Most of all just have fun and act like big kids oh and volunteer for everything!
