I plan months ahead, I'm a typical DisBoard over planner.... 6 days out from my perfect planned trip with my sister....my dad says he wants to meet us for dinner. Our Reservation for 4 has just become 5, and Artist Point has no reservations for bigger tables avalible.

( In the last 20 years my dad has never wanted to meet us at Disney...so this is a bit of a surprise. ... but since he's the guy that got all us kids hooked on Disney, we coudln't say "no" We are really looking forward to him stopping by)

So what is going to happen when we show up?

( I'm already calling, a few times each day...but nothing has broke so far)

Often when Disney Dining shows no availability, just showing up at the restaurant (especially early--like 5:00 pm) will show that there is available seating. I am betting, given your dates (not Christmas-New Years) and the fact that you are not trying to get into Ohana or some other overly popular spot-- you will be worked in. Yes, we have shown up with extra guests a few times over the years. It has always worked out! I think your chances lessen if you wait to show up at the restaurant until past 6. That doesn't mean they are diminished, though.

They will do everything in their power to accommodate you and I will bet that you will not have a problem:thumbsup2

Thanks, that's good advice. Our diner was Oct 13th at 6:30 I guess it might be best to show-up early and give them more time to work us in :wizard:

My brother unexpectly showed up for 2 days on our Thanksgiving trip last year and we had no problems. I called CRO when I found out, and they were able to accomodate us just 2 days out at Jinko and Yatchsman Steakhouse. I'd say just keep calling and show up early. Good luck! :flower3:

In my expirience - they will seat you. Others may have a different expirence, but when my party size has changed (increased or decreased) they've seated us

We were at Epcot on 9/28 and had some friends join us. My ADR was at 5:30 at Coral Reef. We went about 5 PM, and asked if there was any way they could accomodate our now larger party of 6 (we were 2), and were told no problem. I was shocked since they had turned the family in front of us away saying they were fully booked until 10/25 and were not accepting walkups. They told me it would probably not be seated until our actual ADR time of 5:30, but we were seated in about 10 minutes. It really worked out for the best, and we had a very nice meal with our friends.

In my experience, they'll seat you all with no issues.

We added 2 people "after the fact"...there were a couple ressies we couldn't change, and we just showed up and no one even flinched....

this is good to hear. My friend who lives in FL might come visit for a day and if it is the day we go to dinner it is nice to hear it might work out.

We are a party of 12 for CRT breakfast on the 18th. My sister originally said she wouldn't be taking my 4 yr old nephew because it was to expensive and wasteful. She no regrets that decision and I keep calling to see if we could add one more to our ressie and they say there is no way because they have us seated at to tables of 6 and the restaurant is booked solid! I am hesitant to suggest that we just show up with him and ask to add him because of the popularity of the restaurant I am afraid they will tell us no way!.
