What do the performers do in the daytime?

Just curious but what do the singers/ actors in the evening shows do during the daytime?

What we noticed was that we saw the cast throughout the cruise working at different places on the ship during the day. Some work behind the guest services/excursions counters, others organized excursion gatherings before getting off the ship, still others worked in the shops.

On our cruise last September, we noticed some of the dancers/singers from the shows played the disney characters during the day, at the character appearances.

they also do rehearsals and life boat drills.

On the Magic they have a Navigators session where you ge to talk to some of the cast. They did mention their ship responsibilties, other than life boat stuff, they are entertainers only.

By the way, when we did the 3 peat on the Wonder added 80's nite to the schedule (4 day only). You could hear them rehearsing when walking thru Route 66.

I actually spoke with one of the behind the scenes cast for the shows on Deck 4. She was reading a book and taking a break. We talked for quite awhile.

We were at Serenity Bay in July, waiting for a tram to take us back to the ship. While standing around, we over heard an older couple and a younger(20 something) girl talking. The mother(I assume) asked the girl what time she had to be at work, which struck me as odd seeing as we were on Castaway Cay (who works there? LOL! ). When she replied, the father said oh yes, you have 3 shows to do tonight, right? Thats when I realized she must be one of the performers in Disney Dreams. So, they do get to take some time off to relax. I thought it was nice that her parents got to cruise, spend the day with her, then see her perform at work too.
