I've always loved the old school yellow Mickey ones. Are they still available?

......or are there really cool newer ones that I will want?

Last year they had clear ponchos with a castle on the back that said something like "Disney Theme Parks". I still have my yellow mickey one that I bring back each trip.

Thanks for the tip that they have castles on them now! I just ordered a yellow mickey off of ebay for the trip.

funny-how little things like this matter and how happy I am to know I have a mickey one coming

I ended up only paying $8 including shipping, so I am guessing that iit will be somewhat comparable (if not cheaper) that it will be in the park.

I think we paid $12 for ours. They are not cheap, but they are heavy and will last several trips. Some will tell you to pick one up at the Dollar General for a dollar, but that wil not really last.
Sometimes you can find them on Ebay. ( I just checked and there are some on Ebay)

ofcourse...now that I have the perfect poncho-it surely guarentees that it won't rain while I am there. (Not that that would be BAD!)

I carry my poncho with me at all times when I am at Disney. It does provide a little padding while I wait for the parades and Wishes:)

I'm glad to hear others still have their yellow Mickey rain ponchos! I still have mine from years ago and plan to take it with me at the end of May.

I recommend having a visor or hat to wear with the poncho to keep the water out of your eyes that drips from the poncho hat.

They are clear now so people can recognize their families (at least that is what I heard) I too miss my old school yellow one. The clear ones are good and durable though, they get very hot though.

I love the old yellow ones. One year my dh was meeting us a few days into our trip. I was talking to him on the phone and asking him where he was & he replied that he was walking in a sea of yellow ducks! I like the clear ones now just so you can recognize your party. I also bring a visor just for the reason stated above about keeping the water out of your eyes.

I still have my yellow ones too!!!! Ours have been used about 7 times and still going strong.

If you have a car while at WDW you can get yellow ones with Mickey on it from Target on 192. They are about $7 and I would say exactly the same quality. They also have princesses and Sponge Bob plus a few others. They sit on a rack right inside the front door. I would guess that the Super Walmart has them too.

i had an experience with the current disney ponchos, on a rainy day in EPCOT, February 2008 :)
I remember running into some off-the-beaten path building with a history of EPCOT exhibit, and my friends and i wondered if anyone ever went in there other than when a giant rainstorm came.
if i'm correct, the ponchos were clear with blue writing on the back, and maybe a picture of Cinderella's castle. i think i have a picture, maybe i'll put it up sometime soon. =]

We were told by a cast member that Disney moved to clear ponchos after noticing that shoplifting was more prevalent on rain days. (Think about it ...much easier to slide a little something under the big yellow poncho than a clear one.)
