What do people think about Double Strollers at Disney?

We're going to Disney in about a month, and I'm trying to decide which double stroller to take. My older son is 2 1/2 and the little one will be five months. We have been consider getting a double jogger for some time, and I would like to bring it, but I'm not sure how it will fit through the stores and lines, etc. We have a hand-me-down double tandem from Graco that I don't really like...just have it for convenience. We also have a Graco Quatro that we could bring for the baby that I used last year at Disney for the older one, and an umbrella stroller that we could use for the older one this year.

I would love to bring a double jogger, but am not sure about it's size. Any suggestions or advice???

Thanks!

If you do bring the double, make sure it has the swivel front wheel. Our double jogger has a "fixed" front wheel and it was very hard to manuever! We had a good experience otherwise with ours, the kids were shaded, comfy and had room to sleep. Also, the double doesn't "roll on" the monorail, so take the ferry over to the Magic Kingdom instead!
Have Fun!

i have to sing the praises of the Aria Double stroller by Peg Perego i believe. it's LIGHT (14lbs) and sooo easy to maneuver and fold up. both seats recline too! our double graco stroller is waaay too bulky and we couldn't even imagine it in WDW. we also didn't like travelling with the the Graco Travel system stroller in WDW. if you feel comfortable with it then go with it. listen to yourself!! :) have a great time!

We took our double jogger on our 2005 trip. At the time we had DS 15 months (very tiny for his age) and DS4 (Exteremly tall for his age) and it was the only stroller the two would fit in together. I am not a fan of having two strollers for many, many reasons and even though DS4 doesn't use a stroller at home, WDW is a whole other world.

We had no problems with it what-so-ever. I love that stroller. We plan on taking it again for our Dec trip. It was exteremly easy to manuever (and I was 6 months pregnant at the time). We could roll it right onto the fairy and the monorail in the handicap car (as long as no wheelchairs were present). We could even just roll it on to the boat from WL to MK. We didn't have a problem using it on buses--most bus drivers just volunteered to open the handicap door for us. It fit in through all the gates exteremly easily, except MK where it was a tight fit. Through stores it was no different than if we rented--same width.

Now, the details of our stroller: We have a double schwinn with the option of a locked or swivel wheel. The third wheel goes under the foot stand so no chance of hitting anyone with it during those super crowded times. /the seats recline seperatly so if one is awake and the other asleep, no problem, or if you have an infant who doesn;t sit up yet. It has the extra padded seat so spills can just be handled by tossing in the washing machine. There is a 5-point harness belt system. The canopy is large, and there is side coverage. There is a rain cover and a bug/uv shade cover--we used both frequently at WDW. The storage basket was ample and there is a pouch on the back. For WDW we put on insultated stroller cup holders and extra hooks (we rarely used the hooks except to hang popcorn buckets and things like that). The thing folds easy and is easy to carry folded (can do it one handed), but be sure to lock the front wheel first. The thing is super durable too. We seriously abuse that stroller and it still looks brand new.

I'm sure there are thigs I'm forgetting. Just ask if you have any specific questions--you might want to pm me if I don't answer on the board right away, in case I don't get back right away.

We used our Combi Twin Savvy (side by side) this past Dec for our DD 3 1/2 and DS 20 months. It was lightweight to carry on and off the buses and boats and had a strap. Our jogger is heavier and not as easy to fold up (Dreamer Ditto). I definitely preferred the non-jogger in Disney.

We used our Maclaren Twin Traveler and it was much easier to use than our jogging stroller. We had no trouble wheeling straight onto/off of the monorail either. Most of the time we walked to/from the Magic Kingdom since we stayed at the CR.

Thanks everyone...Rt2dz, I didn't realize that there are such affordable jogging strollers. We had looked at every store in the area, and had not seen anything under 300.00.

I'm hoping to have the double jogger...we have been looking into them anyway, and this just helped us get out and do it!

Do any of you have the InStep Safari TT Double? One of the websites said that the Schwinn and the InStep are the same stroller. I wondered if anyone had seen both of them and noticed any differences at all?

Thanks again everyone!

I was just there last week with my 3 and had no trouble with my side by side double.
