What do people do for breakfast at Old Key West?

Hi, we are staying at OKW next May and have the disney dining plan. I was wondering what most people staying here do for breakfast. Olivias is a Table service credit on the plan, is it worth using it for the breakfast here as we would only have a counter service meal left for the rest of the day? On the menues section it says that Goods to Go does breakfast but no breakfast items are listed. Does anyone know what can be bought for breakfast at goods to go? Thanks for any info, we are along way out yet but if I am to decide which ADRs we need then I need to know if breakfast needs booking also. Thanks, Joy.

I don't know about breakfast items at Goods to Go, but we had breakfast at Olivia's and it was delicious! :thumbsup2

We waited and ate breakfast at the park if we didn't have an ADR somewhere. You can always have fruit or breakfast bar to hold you over.

Goods to Go does have breakfast items.

Breakfast

Served from 7:30 to 10:30 am

Breakfast Croissant Sandwich - eggs, bacon, American cheese $5.99

Breakfast Platter - eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes $6.79

Assorted Cereal - with milk $3.19

Muffin $2.59

Danish $2.39

Bagel with Cream Cheese $2.59

Cinnamon Bun $2.99

Fruit Cup $3.39

(the above from All Ears - Oct '10)

However, Olivia's has one of IMHO, best breakfasts on property.
they make a wonderful sweet potato hash, and hands down the best grits on the planet. I'm basised, but I'd highly recommend at least one breakfast at Olivias.

We had breakfast in the room. We used the kitchen. We had either cereal or waffles (Eggo) or oatmeal. Fruit. Plus tea and coffee.

We eat breakfast in the room. It's so nice to just relax with a cup of coffee and some cereal, yogurt etc and then head into the parks. We always put aside one morning to have breakfast at Kona cafe.

Agreed. IMO, Olivia's is one of the more underrated restaurants in WDW.

You must must must try the Banana Bread French Toast.

Three hours later, you will awaken from a diabetic coma, and be very happy. :goodvibes

Seriously: Oliva's is an under-appreciated gem, and that BBFT is superb-- think Bananas Foster for breakfast.

Go and enjoy.

I'm not sure about the to go Q you have. But Olivia's is amazing. It has my #1 favorite breakfast in WDW! I had the banana bread french toast. Amazing. But Even though we do get the DDP we still pay cash b/c it's only like $10-$12 for a breakfast @ Olivia's. Enjoy!

Oh & not a lot of people know about this place outside OKW guests so it's not too crazy. I'd go outof my way for the bbft.

THANK YOU!!! Someone's on the same page as me, I just read this. Yes I agree, :banana:I feel the bbft stands alone. Dessert for Breakfast!!!

We've been members at OKW since 1991 and always have breakfast in our room. This is one of the great things for us about being members. We are not early birds, well past the rope drop stage and love to sit and talk and have a very leisurely breakfast. We always rent a car and go shopping at Publix to pick up some things. This is the only meal we have in our room. Believe it or not I've never sued the oven in 20 years!! HA HA We are normally on the dining plan and sometimes use our snack credits for breakfast type items to take back to our room. I especially love MK bakery, yummy! I do agree that Olivia's is one of the most underrated restaurants. We have had breakfast there on occasion and it is very nice. Goods to Go also has breakfast items. So you see, you do have a number of different options for breakfast. I think you will enjoy any of them.

Enjoy The Magic!!

No one has mentioned the fabulous tropical bread that they have at Olivias. It is almost worth going just for that. I would pay OOP but do try Olivia's at least once. You can almost always get a table without an ADR. At least in my experience. As others has stated it really is one of the most underated reseraunts in WDW. Like the rest of OKW is has a very relaxed atmosphere.

If by breakfast you mean just cereal, donuts, etc, then it's pretty easy to just eat in your room. If you want a genuine TS breakfast, Olivia's is a great place. And we've never had to make a reservation for breakfast--always got a table in quick fashion.

Can't help with the credit business as we never do the DP.

We eat in the room..................sometimes it is left over dessert from the night before!:lmao:

Goods is okay for breakfast, not a lot of selection and only outdoor seating, but we did enjoy getting some stuff there a few times and then going over by the pool to eat it (which is always deserted that time of day).

As for Olivias, its wonderful for all three meals! I would for sure do breakfast there, but maybe pay out of pocket. I love the outdoor seating they have. I also suggest doing dinner, its one of our favorites and that one is worth the credit. Breakfast being so inexpensive isn't the best use of a credit financially speaking but for the food it is. I try to be wise with my credits but then end up just figuring I want what I want, and if its not the best "deal" so be it!

Looks like Olivias gets the thumbs up all around so we will definitely have to give it a go. I think we will prob do a mixture of things including eating in the room and booking elsewhere. Quite like the look of the buffet in the Grand Floridian. Thanks for all the opinions.
