what do most adults wear on pirate night?

Just wondering what most adults wear for pirate night?

My DH & I have some really cool pirate costumes that we are gonna wear this cruise:goodvibes Even though we don't have kids we are going all out this time, in the past we have just worn bandanna's and not really gotten into it, not this time!!!pirate: It's gonna be so awesome!

The only thing I'm planning to wear is a single, relatively large, strategically placed "eye" patch.

We just wear the bandana we get at dinner (with our street clothes, of course!)

But, you guys are INSPIRING!!!! I may just have to start looking for an inspirational pirate costume!! I could get into this! :)

I want to dress up!pirate: I may have to tell DH, costumes arrr mandatory. (my rules, not Disney's);)

Is it appropriate to wear shorts during the Pirate Night dinner? :confused3I know it is not normal attire for the restaurants on the other nights, but wasn't sure if the dress code is not as strict on Pirate night. Thanks!pirate:

my kids and I wore our halloween pirate costumes...

although I love the Sao Feng/Barbossa/Sparrow costumes in above posts!!!

We dressed in the pirate theme on our Wonder 4 nighter a couple of years ago (skull t-shirts & eye patches for DH & DS & I wore sort of a wench look). I was not going to mess with it tho on our 7-night Med cruise this summer...it seems so many of the people on our Med cruise are DCL newbies who've only just recently even heard of DCL (mostly from the UK). For some reason I am just not expecting there will be a whole lot of people who even think of dressing up for pirate night. :confused3 Anybody go on a Med last year notice if there were a lot of people dressed up or not?! Am I thinking right or am I way off?! What percentage of people will dress in pirate attire on these Med cruises?!

I went to Joann's Fabric Store on their $1/pattern day and got pirate costume patterns, some unbleached muslin fabric and some brown fabric and had my alterations lady make a blousey, pirate shirt and some pirate knickers.
Then I went to Michael's craft store and bought a medallion that looks the part in the jewelry section and slipped a leather string threw it and voila! I'm set. I think I may find a scarf for a sash and borrow one of my DH's belts.
I know I'll embarrass my sisters by going all out and that is half the fun.pirate:

DH & I did. I can't tell you percentages, but there were a few people who dressed up. Some, only a pirate-themed shirt and bandana, others, full regalia.

My feeling was there were probably fewer people in full dress than on and "regular" (Carribbean) cruise, but there were enough that it was certainly "pirate-y".
