Hi, we love to visit Walt Disney World during Spring Break. The weather can't be beat! There are a few things to keep in mind when you travel during this very busy season.
The week you are travelling will be the week before Easter next year. This means extra magic hours and park openings and closings will be extended. We are a Rope Drop family and that means if you plan on going to Rope Drop at a park with morning Extra Magic Hours you will likely be up about the time you have to get up at home for work! If you prefer Evening Extra Magic Hours - you'll find they run pretty late or into the early morning. Just make sure you don't plan on getting up early the next day and you'll have a blast closing down the Magic Kingdom at 3AM!
Make sure you make your ADRs and FP+ as soon as you are eligible. You do need to have a plan if you are planning on hitting the headliner attractions. This will help you Zig when everyone else is Zagging!
Also for fireworks and parades you will need to make sure you get to your spot a good 45 minutes or so before.
I haven't run into Tour Groups while on Spring Break but I have found there to be large groups of college students. This is OK because they are usually less organized than Tour Groups!
One last thing, we're from the Northeast as well and we love to go to Epcot and enjoy the Flower & Garden Festival. It is so nice to see the beautiful gardens and topiaries after having so much snow on the ground. Also, the food kiosks are nice to visit too. We really liked the BBQ kiosk at the American Adventure pavillion this year.
Have fun planning!
