My husband and I are going to be on our first ever Adults only trip this December. I've been trying like crazy to make ADR's but everything seems to be booked. The earliest I can get an ADR for breakfast at 1900, Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace is like 10:45. That's crazy late. What should I do?:confused3 Do we just try to do a walk in and wait for a table?

I would suggest booking one of the reservations to be on the safe side. Then I would check periodically to see if something earlier opens up at any of the restaurants. If all else fails if you can't get the reservation changed, at least you have something booked if you still want to take advantage of it, and you can still try to walk up (although I don't know how much success you will have with that) or you can have your concierge check to see if anything else is available.

I agree you should get one of the ADRs to be on the safe side. We have gotten reservations that late before and honestly it wasn't too bad. We kind of considered it breakfast and lunch. In the morning we just got a coffee and were pretty good to go. The excitement kind of took over and distracted us from being hungry :)

Call repeatedly if you can....Very seldom do I not get the reservation (hotel or dining) that I want but I am extremely persistent. Reservations change so much that it is sometimes just the "luck of the draw". By calling repeatedly, you increase your chances of catching something! LOL

That being said, I have never visited during December so it may be different.

Have you thought about Cape May for Breakfast? I know the other one are easier for you as far as location but Cape May is very good for Breakfast.

Well, with fingers crossed I called Disney agian at the suggestion of one of the previous posters. And.....the CM got me a 8:15 reservation for Breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

I agree that you have to keep trying. I have been trying to rearrange a couple of our TS restaurants and/or ADR times and have found online reservations work better for me than calling. Because you have to go through the hassle of giving your reservation number, name, address, phone...it just seems to take forever only to be told there is nothing open. From what I understand, there are very few ADRs you can't make online, so I might suggest that.

I also recommend continuing to try up until your stay. We arrive next Friday and I have had pretty good luck in the last couple of days making reservations at some popular restaurants. I have been told that this is because people keep more than one reservation for the same meal until they are able to finalize everything and then cancel the ones they didn't want. So...don't give up if you can't get exactly what you want right now. :)

Does it have to be a buffet? Kona Cafe is really good. We are eating our Christmas breakfast there. :woohoo:

What about Ohana? If you cant get in before 1045 you will probably not be able to do a walk up. If they are booked they will not take walk ups unless somebody cancels that day. Like the others said... book what you can then keep trying for the time you want. What about the princess breakfast in the castle also? Cape May is a good one. I dont know... just keep trying.

Yup, I would book the less desirable times just to be on the safe side. I booked our trip (and ADR's) 35 days out, so there wasn't much for ADR's left. However, I just kept trying the online system, and I just today got my ADR's finalized for the times I wanted.

1.) Don't give up.

2.) Check online every day and be flexible with the times.

3.) Hang in there as tons of folks HOG multiple ADR's for the same day and even the same venue while they wait for the park hours to be released and then they cancel the extras. Bloody rude but it happens frequently.

4.) Check with your concierge at the hotel if you are staying on property. They have been known to work their magic and come up with "unavailable" reservations.

5.) Walk-up. People cancel or no-show all of the time and the worse you will be told is no.

6.) Follow the December cancel thread on this board. It will give you a heads up on ADR's that are being cancelled.

Good luck.

We are the exact opposite! I LOVE the late breakfasts. Then we call them brunch and skip lunch with an early dinner. Saves some $$$. Sounds like you got a time you want. I'd definitely keep trying to get what you want!! Good luck!

Are you staying at the Grand Floridian? I was going to suggest the Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast. People overlook this restaurant and it's really good. We loved our breakfast here and the restaurant itself was so bright and pretty. Maybe that could work for you. Otherwise, keep trying for the others. I too booked a trip in Feb. very last minute and kept trying like crazy even while there to score 1900 PF breakfast and I did. There's hope! Good luck. :goodvibes

Are you really set on it being a character meal? I agree with the PPs, GF Cafe and Kona are really good for breakfast.
