What do I do to rent points??? Please help.

Go to the Rent/Trade Board and read the thread entitled: **How to use this Board** - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Okay well then what I was trying to ask not meaning to post specific info is: if I want to stay at a specific resort for only two nights at a specific time of the year how does it work? This is really confusing trying to ask without using details… I have read a lot of the info but still confused. Okay let me ask like this: If I wanted to stay at Mickey Mouse Villa Resort (mmvr) for two nights Feb. 29-31, 2014 what would I need to ask and how??? Can anyone with points rent to me or only mmvr owners only? how far in advance can it be done, i need advice using a real example. Obviously my op was not an acceptable post so I need help… thanks for any help.

We've rented twice before owning, and here's what we did:

Figure out how many points you need. David's DVC Rental has a calculator that can help you, and he can actually arrange for the rental if you'd prefer. We didn't use him, but have heard great things. His service is probably a good one, especially for a first time renter. (The Timeshare store rents now too. You could check with them as well.)

Anyway, after you have an idea of how many points you need, you can check out the rent/trade board. (Be sure you're signed in first.) Then it's just a matter of finding the match. If you're within 7 months of your visit, then any points will do it's just the matter of getting availability and making a deal, agreeing on terms, exchanging paperwork/funds. If it's outside of 7 months you'll need someone who has points for the resort you're interested in.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but this should at least give you an idea.

1) You look up the point chart to see how many point you need. Ex. 2 nights at 23 points per nights = 43 points. Friday and Saturdays cost more points per night than the other nights.

2) If it is with in 7 months of the date you can rent from anyone

3) If it is more than 7 months away you can only rent from an owner at villas you want.


If you rent from Davids service he will figure it out and connect you with the necessary people.

11 months out requires an owner at that resort. 7 months out - any owner will do.

at some times during the year, you need an owner to book at 10-11 months out.

Follow the link CarolMN posted and read Post #2 in that thread. If you still find the process confusing after reading that post you should consider renting from David's because you will have someone to walk you through the process.
