What do do with LGMHPCs?

I have liberated 60 LGMHPCs, as well as tons in other colors as well. I want to make luggage tags and stuff with them, but I am not sure how to get them off their backing. Can I just cut around it, leaving a strip of tan, and put them back to back? I figure that will increase their thickness, making them less prone to the "bendies". I have also read about people soaking them, but I'm not sure how to go about that. It also seems that would decrease their rigidity, making them easier to tear or bend. After I write on them, I will head to Staples to get them laminated in sheets, then cut them apart and punch holes in them, voila! Cool name tags! I figure a name, home address on one side, and then the resort and a local number on the other side. Anyone with any other ideas, please let me know! I also plan on making some name tags for my nieces, since they are getting invitations from some of the characters, inviting them to meals (Thanks Pat from the DISigns board!). I thought it would be pretty cool if the invites were delived with their names on a Mickey head, instead of a boring piece of paper. I can also color coordinate the color head to the color of invite. Pink for the PSB, blue for CRT, green for Donald's, yellow for 'Ohana w/ Lilo and Stitch. See how this goes? Also, if any one else has some ideas, I would love to hear them! TIA!

I very carefully and slowly peel the LGMH's off and glue two of them together. I use them on my luggage, fanny bags, purse and camara case. You put them anywhere you would like. I need to get some more. LOL

That is so stinking funny.:lmao: :lmao:

I knew you where talking about Mickey Head swatches, but for the life of me I could firgure the abv.

I just picked up one in every coloe at my HD this week. I am going to use them to make a countdown board/poster for my family. I don't even plan on peeling them off the cards. Any extras I may use to decorate Mousekeeping envelopes. Or maybe save for scrapbooking.

Can anyone tell me how to soak them properly to get them offf their backing? :confused3 I read it here somewhere, but can't find it now.

With all mine I just cut around... and now I'll be working on how I want them to look... some are for decorating window... others for tags like you described :thumbsup2

I soak them in hot water for 3 or 4 minutes, and they peel right off. They do curl up some, so once you dry them off, you'll have to flatten them out. I usually put them under a stack of books overnight. If you are going to glue them together or laminate them, you won't have to worry about the curling so much.

DH took a box cutter blade and slid it underneath the head. They come off VERY easy this way. I then took 2 and glued them back to back to make luggage tags and child ID tags.

I never thought of pealing them off the backing. I have a group of 17 going and have been using tons of them to make countdown calendars.

I'm gonna have to see about lamanating them for my luggage. My luggage is so usgly. I wonder if there is a way to adhere them to the canvas of my luggage. I me really, my bags couldn't get any more ugly.
