I'm going to be placing an order soon for some Disney guide books. Which one(s) do you recommend?

Thanks!!!

I have Birnbaums Official guide and love it. I know some don't becuase they think it is not giving enough of the "bad" about Disney. It has alot of nice pictures too, which I like.
I also have Frommers. No pictures in it it ,but it does tell you what it thinks about some for the less popular rides. And places are things that you can avoid.
Many like the unofficial guide, and passporters. I have not used either of them, so I can't say how good they are.

My favorite, and I have read all of them over the years, is the Unofficial Guide. It is very thick but quick to read because it is so funny! They review everything in great detail. My only complaint is they are , in my opinion, overly critical of just about all of the restaurants at WDW. However, when they are negative about something they WILL print opposing viewpoints from readers. The reader comments are invaluable. I recommend it to everyone!

The Unofficial guide was/is my favorite. It gives very detailed info. What I found particulary helpful was the ride info. It outlined if a ride might be scary for toddlers and why. We skipped the rides that we thought might be traumatic and are saving them for when they are older.

We got the Passporter for last year's trip and thouroughly enjoyed it. I'll probably get the 2007 version for our trip in September.

I am a true blue believer in Birmbaum, I really think it is the best and give it as a gift to anyone who is planning a first time trip.:thumbsup2

I have purchased the Passporter for a few trips and really like it. I especially like the pockets to store things and write daily things.

I love the Unnofficial Guide. It has so much great info, and some great touring plans for the parks if you are going during a busy time.

I love the Unofficial Guide, too. I tried the Passporter for the first time, but I didn't really use it other than as a notebook (which I could have put together for less money). It is a nice read, though, if you just like to read about WDW. It also has some nice maps. Next time, though, I'll only buy the Unofficial Guide.

We've been going to Disney for years and those two guides are the best two on the market.

I actually signed up for Tour Guide Mike and fell in love the the amount of info and tips for our trip last spring. I am definitely going to do it again for our trip at the end of August. It was nice because you could print stuff out and only bring what you needed for the day. I was traveling with a 4 year old and 1 year old so I needed to save as much space as I could for their stuff.

My suggestion is to pick one of the guides books and then sign up for Tour Guide Mike.

Have fun planning

BTW-Birnbaums is the best guide for kids. My DS5 loves the pictures, but I didn't find it as good for tips.

Me too. I love it:love:. If your kids were older their kids version is awesome too. It's got a lot of stuff written by kids who have been there. My DS loved it when we got it for our first trip and is rereading it for our upcoming trip. The next time you have friends with kids and want to get the book as a gift you might want to add that too.:)

When we go we get 3 books. First 1 is the Unofficial guide to WDW and the second 1 is Fodor's WDW with Kids and then the last 1 is Frommer's WDW & Orlando with kids.

I think I've read every tour book out there on Disney, from the library of course, and the absolute best in my opionion is the Unofficial Guide. We've only been 2 times but planning our 3rd trip in April and the touring plans in the back are an absolute must for us to follow!!

I love the Unofficial Guide for planning purposes. For the kids, I got Birnbaum's WDW for Kids by Kids. They had a lot of fun seeing pics and reading what other kids said about the rides.
