What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

Check out Rafikis Planet Watch at AK - most people skip it because it's time consuming to take the train out. One of my coworkers is a big Disney nut like me and she told me to check it out and it was really neat. Plus it's nice to do something a little slower paced after my son and I have been on Exp Everest about a million times.

Try new and exotic foods. My teenage son has ALWAYS been a picky eater but the Disney magic makes him adventurous and he has tried all sorts of new and different foods at Disney. Try it with your picky eater too.

Get a fanny pack (or two).

Eat a snack in your room before starting out for the day. My son and I have a small snack and then we're off to park opening and when things start to get crowded we're ready for lunch and we haven't had to stop for bkfst or snack during the less crowded early morning hours. We often just munch on a granola bar while waiting for the bus at our resort.

My best tip would be to always choose the left line for rides. My kids would see who we would be behind if we went to the right. Every ride we always beat that person on by going to the left. Try it!

I have found that the right line at Pirates is usually pretty much empty. But then, the time of year I go, all the lines are pretty much empty. The one thing I can say is that, if a line is completely empty and no one is using it because they think it might be closed, go for it. If there is no rope blocking the entrance, it's open. You would be amazed how many times people go to the longer line because they think the empty one is closed ... because no one is in it. It's funny to walk past the longer line and have people look laughingly at you thinking you are going to be turned back and then you just walk up and jump on the ride.

Buying double cheeseburgers and an extra bun, to make 2 burgers. Prices are high and every little bit I save makes me feel better. Never would have thought of it on my own.

We do the double cheeseburger meals all the time. Since the two of us don't eat a lot to begin with, this is a great deal for us. But, we usually bring our own second bun in one of those hard plastic sandwich containers. Sounds silly, I know. But every penny counts.

We also take advantage of the free water in all of the parks. Many don't like to do this becuase they say the water tastes funny. But I haven't found it funny tasting ... except at Casey's on Main Street in MK. Yucky. And as much as I drink water, that is a substantial savings for us. I could easily go through about six bottles in a day. At $2.50/$3.00 a bottle, it really adds up.

Bring extra sunglasses....I didnt... Having to buy uncomfortable replacements in the park after you leave them on test track is a wise lesson learned.

Yup... They did a test with the big patty at BB and it is good. However I carry a knife (butter) with me and we slice it in half and it makes two nice patties.

Now that's two things Disney has ruined for me! Not only can I not sit in my favorite place to watch Wishes anymore (without reservations and paying out the nose), but now this burger thing? Sheesh.

But, I guess I can still manage to squeak out a good time at Disney.

Mine are more things to do when waiting in line. We bought pins on ebay - a lot cheaper! Even if they didn't like the pins, they were able to trade them at the park. It gave them something to do and they interacted with the CM's. Their landyards are full, so Santa will have to bring them more pins to trade for our Spring Break trip. Also, we had a blast finding hidden Mickeys. We bought the book before we left and read it in line while we waiting for rides. We have some great pictures and our 11 year olds loved it! On our last trip we also enjoyed going to different resorts in the afternoon. We took a break and had a snack. We were able to get rejuvinated and see other some beautiful resorts!

It's the deck over by the noodle factory. That's the CS place to the right just as you cross the bridge into Tomorrowland. It's kind of tucked back in there so many people don't even pay it any attention. The food place usually isn't open when we go in early May, so we grab one of the tables at the edge of the deck about an hour or so before Wishes, one of us runs over to get dinner at Casey's, eat our dinner on the deck and then have a great, comfortable place to watch the fireworks. And it's really great for photos. Glad I got a bunch the last time we were able to sit there.

Now, however, this deck has been blocked off and you need to make ressies waaaaaaay in advance to have a seat there. Last time I checked (and couldn't get in) I think it was $75 each! At least, that's the number that stuck in my head. But they serve a "gourmet" dessert bar. Big whoop. It better be one heck of a dessert bar for that price.

You're talking about Wishes Dessert Bar - I believe it's only $20 per person, but it's talked about a lot on the DISboards, so if you're still sad about losing your favorite spot, there might be a chance for you to join everyone up there and talk about whether or not it was worthy enough for you!

Absolutely!!! Something DH came up with and it helps a lot! Make sure the kids are on one side of the table and the parents on the other. The characters come to the table and hug the kiddies, you pick up the camera and take pictures, and you continue to enjoy your meal.

if your kids eat anything at all. i have such a picky eater that she doesn't eat much. but never forgets to get ice cream if it a buffet. even for breakfast.

PLEASE only do this if you're heading back to your resort or you have a cooler with ice to put it in. You don't want your child ending up with food poisoning because of leftovers that sat around at room temperature or worse, in FL summer heat for hours. Fruits and non-perishables would be fine, but meals or dairy based desserts, not so much.
