My sister is leaving for Disney on Thurs. She's offered to do some Disney shopping for me. Since I haven't been there for a while, what should I ask her to get for me and my kids (DD9 and DS7)? Something small and easy to pack preferrable since they are also going on the DCL. Anything come to mind that I might not think about?

TONS! I REALLY, REALLY wanted a Disney sweatshirt, but for some reason, I just couldn't find one that I liked!!! :confused3 I also wish I had bought more pens, magnets, little silly stuff like that.. key chains, etc. I bought one really cool Tigger coffee mug, and am wishing I had bought more. Next trip I won't skimp on souvies!

I wish we had had more time to shop for them! My dh saw a jacket he loved, which is rare for him. but we didn't buy it then, thought we would look at Downtown Disney first, but didn't see anything there like it.

I couldn't find the scrapbook store at DD.

I wanted sweatpants and sweat shirts for all of us, but didn't see any. Wasn't the season I guess. Bummed. Didn't want a TShirt, wanted sweats.

Isn't there someplace online or over the phone where you can order merchandise from the parks? My SIL is wanting a Disneyland hat for her son (he lost his) and we were trying to find where to get one.

I would suggest browsing at Laughing Place or Main Street Megastore to pick out something specific.

Although they're a bit controversial, I'm going to stock up on those silicone Mickey head bracelets. They only cost around $4 and come in a bunch of different colors, plus they'll take up virtually no room in my luggage.

At Disneyland Paris they had the most adorable child's ceramic tea set. It was the day before my birthday and I was hinting like crazy, but no one in my family bought it for me. I should have bought it for myself!!!

I had a hard time finding it too.. It's called Disney's Wonderful World Of Memories. It was all the way at the far end...

There was a t-shirt from 2 years ago that I really wish I had bought. Still sad about that. Also, I broke an awesome mug sometime between buying it and getting back to the hotel. I wish I had tried to return it or buy another one. Just think about what your girls are into and what they would love. All Disney things are treasures!

There is a huge, beautiful Tinkerbell statue at the Art of Disney in Downtown Disney for $150.00. I am going to get if for Christmas. Already sacrificing stuff to get that beautiful thing.

And everything gold and white in the Christmas store as soon as you get off the buses. But I can't remember the name of it.

we (myself, wife, DD4) was walking in the lobby of GF and noticed a lady in the corner doing chalk and pastel portraits. We had one done of my daughter, it is AMAZING....my wife is actually out right now getting it framed. if you have the chance i would say have it done of your children. she does great work.

prices were 50.00 B&W, 85.00 color for the 11X14. per person. more expensive for the larger size pics. but 11X14 is good size.

Don't feel bad about missing the scrapbook store guys! It isn't all that great! I only bought one sheet of stickers.

I am sorry I didn't get the Happiest Celebration Picture frame I saw though.

Other than that I love things like magnets and keychains and I always get special pins. Like I get one with the year and I got one for the Flower & Garden Festival and a Happiest Celebration one. I always get pens and coffee mugs too. I love my Flower & Garden mug shaped like a clay flower pot! I like stuff I'll use every day so I get a minute to think of Disney. :goodvibes

On our last short trip in 2003, I really wanted a 14K gold charm for my bracelet.... but I decided to get a nice watch instead.
Although I LOVE my watch, I wish I got the charm.

Needless to say, the Charm is my top priority this trip!

While I covet many of the high end items, I agree that you can get great satisfaction from lots of the more affordable trinkets. Key chains, coffee mugs, caps, pens, etc. will remind you of your trip everytime you use them.
Don't forget to get some Disney CDs :earsboy:

Antenna Mickeys! I bought one Minnie Mouse when I was there in 2003. I am planning on buying holiday ones and looking to see if they have any Pooh characters when we go in July - I would love to get Eeyore for my sister!

I still think that the Art of Disney store has the most amazing souvenirs in all of WDW. Some of the art is just amazing.

I have the pin "Self-Portrait" of Mickey looking in the mirror and painting Walt:

And they have a gorgeous print of it that I was going to buy but decided it was too expensive (I dont' remember how much but it was more than I wanted to spend) but now every time I look at the pin I wish I would have bought it.

If they still have some, I'll probably pick it up next time I go and then come home and have it framed for (relatively) cheap.

I wish I would have gotten that talking monorail magnet. :guilty:

ME TOO!!! I DID try to get it, but couldn't find it. The CM's I asked at WOD said they were out of them. This is the 3rd trip I've come home from without that elusive Monorail magnet!!

Ok, I'm missing something here. A talking monorail magnet? What does it say?

I really want that magnet, too. Will be there in 10 days....any sightings of the must have magnet recently?
