What Disney Restaurant Would You NOT want to go again and why?

Advice on the comments about Chef Mickeys and Crystal palace
We eat at CM for dinner the night of arrival but always arrive by 5pm- usually at 4 for opening and the place is spotless and the food fresh and the staff rested and happy- by 530-6 it starts to get chaotic there so if you went later then 6 try it again for a Late lunch/early dinner combo at 4pm

Same at Crystal Palace- We always go for lunch at 11:30- things are clean and staff are ready to go and the food is fresh

That being said I would never go back to Coral Reef- just overrated and too expensive for what you get- not totally unsatisfied but just blah and plenty places that are not blah at WDW to go to this one again.

Here in Rhode Island we have great Italian food so would probably not go back to Mama Melrose and Tonys unless could not get TS in those parks at other places as they are both just okay.

Turkey Legs:scared1: Yikes- went there last year and of a party of 13 people- 7 ate the turkey legs at 4pm and all 7 got food poisening that night and wasted two days in expensive hotels throwing up and ...... - Not a pretty scene- thank God they never appealed to me and I told my husband him and the kids were not getting them as we had again an early TS dinner- Turkey legs in Hot florida sun just don't make sense to me- it is like a strolling bacteria cart!!!

Chefs de France - horrific service, mediocre food, would not bring out our meals at the same time - biggest ripoff in WDW.

Mama Melrose - have you ever heard of an Italian restaurant that will not give you bread? Enough said.

Chef Mickeys - total chaos, families out of control fighting for face time with the characters and cutting in front of you at the buffet line, patrons waiting to be seated hanging over you at your booth invading your space while you are trying to eat.

Hollywood & Vine - worst of the buffets - cold food, poor service, no variety (don't pick this one as part of the Fantasmic package -you'll be sorry)

What's your opinions on the Earl of Sandwich? We never tried it but were thinking about it.

last time we went, after traveling all day to get there, we went to DTD after checking in at the resort, and tried the Earl of Sandwich.. was quite impressed.. great selection, and what we selected was great!! My DW has already announced that we MUST go there on our next trip in August..

Mama Melrose hands down.

The food was a train wreck (4 people in our group had 4 different things)! And our waiter was one of the "coldest" servers that I have ever encountered and it was apparent the he hated his job.

Yachtsman's Steakhouse

When you go to a signature restaurant that touts FINE, AGED beef and you get a cut of **** beef (not only was my steak horrible but so was my DH, DS, and Dad's steak). Well, that tends to turn you off to that restaurant forever.:sad2: I'm never going back.

Sci Fi ......I ordered the shrimp dish ......just about when our party of 9 was finishing our dessert it hit.......yep......me and DH........it was HORRIBLE. I'l spare you the icky details but after a horrendous bus ride back to POR we spent the rest of the evening sick as dogs....thank god my sisters family was with us....they took our kids to MK for the evening....I'll never go there again. Bleck. :scared1:

First of all I am glad to see that my restaurant did not make this list!

I will not eat at:

Mama Melrose - horrible service and borderline food.

Pepper Market - Don't even get me started, we still joke about how terrible our experience was there.

Tony's- Same reasons; mediocre food, bad service.

Gosh, some of our favorite restaurants have been mentioned here!! :lmao:

As for us, again, going against the majority- we HATED BOMA!!!! Everything was disgusting except the kids buffet and the desserts.

Also, we had a really bad meal at Le Cellier in 2002. I swore I'd never go back, but with the rave reviews it gets, we figured we try again last trip but could never get an ADR! Our server was also a complete tool.

Oh, and Crystal Palace for lunch on Good Friday. I think they must have taken the holiday into account because everything seemed seafood based, and it was all really, really bad. We did give that another shot for dinner and it was good, but I wouldn't dare ever book lunch again.

We do Chef Mickey's every single trip and have never had a complaint.

Oh, and the ABC Commissary? I know I did it years ago, but this past trip I couldn't even find one single thing on the menu that even looked edible!

^ I agree with you on the Sci-Fi. Too expensive for a hamburger that I could get at a CS place. Too dark to see your food. And especially about the same 5 second snippets over and over again. Our waiter wasn't especially great either.

Brown Derby -- Once a family favorite and a visit on every trip , we have watched this rest. slowly go down the tubes -- although some of my fondest memories of WDW are my young DD sitting with the piano man singing disney tunes.
The final Straw -- on a party of 8 , 5 members got sick to the point of not being able to sit through Fantasmic (FDP)

Fulton's --- Rude , Rude , Rude --- Horrible Service ,the only non kid friendly we have ever encountered in 25 trips to disney

Sci-Fi...the food was just awful, I could have gotten better at CS. The waitress was nice enough, but we all pretty much agree we won't go back. We had ADR's and still had to wait about 45 minutes for our table. We didn't have more than a 10 minute wait at any other TS restaurant.

The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in the Studios (poor service and poor food), and the Earl of Sandwich at Disney Downtown (a madhouse, with no Disney feel at all).

Karnak

The Sci Fi - food is okay, too dark, too FREEZING for my DH ( had to put sweat pants on in June!) and we can't socialize, after 2 visits there is no more draw.
Mexico- food was YUCK- crammed back to back.

BOMA I didn't like it at all. Wish I did. Did like one think on the dessert menu but other then that no

I would rather have a gun to my head before I would eat at Planet Hollywood again!

I went there in Jan. 07 with best friend on our girls' trip to WDW. Now here it is, about 8:30 p.m. and it's jam-packed. And loud. All we want is "an adult beverage" and something basic. The waitress was very put off with the fact that all we wanted was two glasses of white wine to drink and not the "special Planet Hollywood whatever" in the souvenier mug. Nope, no thanks.

Then it took 45 minutes for a salad and a chicken sandwich. My sandwich tasted just like the fries, which tasted like cardboard. And were cold. Now, I am in no way a picky eater -- I will inhale anything :lmao: But when I consider sending food back, it's bad!

My best friend's salad was doing the backstroke in some sickening salad dressing. And then there were some odd rice things covering the entire friggin' thing. She had two bites and when the waitress came over (about five minutes later) to see if we were done, she forced my friend to take a doggie bag. About 15 minutes later, my friend had to find the little girl's room and her "dinner" made a reappearance. We threw out the salad.

Our dinner that night came in the form of giant hot fudge sundaes from Ghiradelli. Mmmmmmmmm ....... :worship:

When we go in Oct., I know we have the voucher for food, but I told my dad "No way!!!!!!!!!!" :scared:

I think the only way they get people to eat there is by giving away the vouchers. I have never had a good meal there and therefore avoid it. I went to the one in Tokyo Disney as a last resort...yuck. I ordered a club and what I thought was ham was really very, very undercooked bacon. Never again.

2) I know it's all part of the atmosphere and some people love it but I just can't stand it. I know they are supposed to be like your "family" but honestly, if someone in my family acted like that I'd probably slap them. I've been there twice and I just can't get into it.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I totally agree. It just seems so fake to me. :confused3

We're done with Ohana for dinner-- long wait and the food was not as tasty--we were also disappointed with Fort W restaurant buffet one line and the food was terrible!!!

We felt the same way about O'hana's last year. I love the atmosphere and the service is great, but the food was not good. This year, I'll just go and have a drink and sit in the lobby, but I dont' think I'll be eating there again.

Tony's, Went as my DD is loves lady and the tramp however bad food and bad service.:sad2:
