hey

We are planning a stay at end of November and really stuck on what hotel to pick from. Our budget at a push is one of the moderate resorts. Be nice to have a good pool and hot tub but not to fussed if not as I rather the best overall one.

Would u pick CBR, Coronado, on the port Orleans resort. ?

What is this riverside and French quarter side mean, is it the same hotel and what side would u pick

Also what sort of special things do they do. Is there house and cart at PO

It will be me and my partner only traveling and we are in our mid 20s

We really are stuck. Also should we do 14 nights at the resort or 10 nights and a three night Disney cruise

Thanks for any advice

Gary

The cruise question is totally up to you. It's all personal preference.

Port Orleans has two sides - Riverside and French Quarter. They have different theming. For two adults I'd do FQ but it's often excluded from discounts because it's a smaller part of the resort.

Out of the three mods I'd do CBR strictly for theming. You're generally getting the same ammenitites at all three. There is a horse and buggy at POR and you can also take a boat to Disney Springs from Port Orleans on either side.

PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE
Yes they have horse and carriage rides for 45 dollars at POR. Yes, they are separate resorts, but you can use the pools at both. They have their own buses for most of the time and they have their own free boat transportation to Disney Springs. POR is my favorite of the Disney resorts. Have fun planning your trip.

They all looked good. Soooo hard what one to pick

Do u think it's better 2 weeks in resort or 10 nights and 3 night dinsey cruise

Just can't decide what one to do lol

Riverside and French Quarter are different hotels, but they are walking distance to each other (with a path). French Quarter is smaller (so less walking to eat, busses, etc. and not as crowded busses or resort), but Riverside has the horse and carriage, the TS restaurant, and some great nightly entertainment. My breakdown:

If you don't mind a larger resort, Riverside is probably best (the nighttime stuff in the bar is great).
If you want a smaller resort that's going to be less crowded, definitely do the French Quarter (keep in mind like I said, you can walk to Riverside (somewhere between a quarter and half mile) to get to the entertainment if you want something other than just a bar)
Port Orleans also has boats to Disney Springs, which is nice.

If you want the most spread out (with the best pool in my opinion), head Caribbean. Honestly I love all three of these resorts, so you can't go wrong (never been to Coronado).

It depends on what you like. DH and I are not cruise people. We have not been to Coronado we are going in April, but we prefer POR than CBR.

As for your other debate, I personally LOVE cruises (never been on a Disney one though). I love the Bahamas and visiting down there, so I would probably say do that. But I like packing up, switching rooms, etc. Some people would really just prefer to sit for 2 weeks on vacation and veg. Completely up to you on that one.

What's the nighttime entertainment in PO like at the riverside ?

Sounds like the riverside one sounds best so far

We stayed at Coronado Springs as our First Disney Resort this past Jan and the truth is we were not blown away. The Resort was Clean, Staff was Friendly but was lacking the Disney magic that we were expecting. Coronado resort is designed more the Business Conventions and not towards the Disney Magic for families or couples. That is just my 2 cents.

Hmmm so what would u pick between CBR and PO

We normally stay at an off-site condo so I can't provide a personal opinion on CBR or PO. Coronado was our first Disney Resort. I do like the theme of PO and that would be my next resort.

Personally due to your ages and no kids, having stayed at all 3, for fun I would do a split stay at POR riverside and then the other week over to CSR.

Just to throw this in the mix...Swan and Dolphin. Moderate pricing usually. They offer a number of discounts...AAA, teacher, nurse, etc. Right in the middle of the Epcot Resorts area with the ability to walk to two parks. Boardwalk at your doorstep, great restaurants, bars and pool complex at the Swan & Dolphin. I actually prefer them to the WDW resorts at this point. Downside for some is no magical express or dining plan.

Yeah want to get the free dinning when it comes out

Sure, I get it. We go 13 nights, 14 days, and for us it's a little too long at the same resort.

Hmmm not to sure. We are coming from Scotland and fancy just packing the once

If I don't do 14 nights there I would do 10 nights and a 3 night Disney cruise

What resort do u think is best for mid 20s just the two of us

Yes, you definitely need a WDW resort then. Just in case, free dining isn't offered when you're going, it's worthwhile checking out the Swan & Dolphin..especially for a couple of twenty-somethings. Lots to do around there.

Yeah I will do

So far am thinking the PO riverside, sounds good and close to Disney springs which is where we would go lots of nights, is Disney Spring walking distance ?
