What Discount Did You Get With Your Deluxe?

Ok, so my ex and I have decided that we want to try a deluze resort next time we go to WDW. We have stayed at Pop because we have been very on a very strict budget. But this past trip we have had a very bad time there... well I shouldn't say very... but our neighbors didn't make it easy for us.

My question is what kind of discount have you gotten with your deluxe resorts? For example, do you know what percentage you have gotten? Or what about the cost it was rack rate and then with discount?

We are saving more than $1500 off rack for our April/May trip at GF, with the buy4get3free discount. We traveled last year at the same time and only received a AAA discount of 10% off rack at the Poly. No other discounts were available. Needless to say we are :cool1:

Grand Floridian Garden View 05/30-06/06. 2A3C, 7d base tix and DDP.

Rack rate: $5434.53
4/3 deal: $3871.24
Savings: $1563.29

I am staying 8 nights at BCV in June, and I saved $1961 with the 4 for 3 deal as opposed to paying rack rate.

With our AP's we've gotten good rates in the past.

Have you considered a moderate also? Just wondering, they are a notch above the value, but less expensive.

We are trying a moderate for the first time next month, POFQ. We got about $800 off rack with the Disney Visa free dining promotion (5 nights, one day ticket, and dining for 3 "adults" one child, as DS is 11 now he needs adult ticket and dining and our total with tax was about $1100). We will need to upgrade our tickets, but I wanted to keep the initial cost as low as possible, and DH doesn't do the parks as much as we do.

Check around - planning is fun!

We are staying at the Yacht Club for five nights in December. Rack rate per night is $325. I am paying $270 using a general public code that was offered in the Fall.

Yes I have considered them. I'm worried because they are "motel" like that we'll have the same problem with noise.

I'm not so concerned about the money really, I have a decent job. I know in the past I have tried my best to save, but I figured its worth splurging once in a while. I know previous discounts don't guarentee same or similar discounts in the future, but I'm just trying to figure out if 4/3 deal is worth it or if I should maybe hold out til the fall and hope for 40% off (which I figured for what we do, is a better deal).

You have something like 45 days until checkin to cancel with no penalty. I know I've made and cancelled 4 reservations in the past 2 weeks because I've been checking daily and finally the place I wanted opened up for my dates. You can always cancel if something better comes along...might as well just book so you don't miss out if this is the best thing that comes along.

You sure? A deluxe is so nice, you might actually get back together :lmao:

There's a HUGE difference from a value to a deluxe. It's really hard to compare.

And the 4/3 deal makes it very appealing as you are savings roughly 750-900 (250-300 per night), vs the roughly 300 on a value.

One of the girls said to me "I thought for sure you and Eric would come back in love..."

Ehh... we won't get into why we are exes right now...

I know there is a huge difference... and I know the savings is more with a deluxe.. I'm just trying to wait and see if I should go in the spring or wait til fall. And if I go in the spring, when do I wanna go.

If we were to go in the Spring this is somewhat how I would book...

7 Night at AKL with Savannah view (my mommy wants savannah... if she doesn't go and I go with Eric then we'd probably do just a standard room) with a 5 day base ticket
Total: $2877.00
With 4/3 deal which is 7 nights AKL with 7 day base ticket $1841.20. Of course I'd have to add no expire to those tickets... but that can be added in later.

FYI, in case you weren't aware of this--the 4/3 deal can only be booked through December 20th, and you can cancel without penalty as long as you're outside the 45-day window.

The 4/3 deal gives a 43% discount on the room portion of the booking, which is more than any PIN code I've seen (40% maximum) and certainly more than the AP discount for January, which is why I switched my reservation from an AP discount to the 4/3 deal. DH and I saved $380 on the total cost of our resort and admission tickets over what we were already saving booking the AP rate. We're staying at AKL savanna-view.

BTW, the only way to develop a new ex is to get rid of the old one! :rotfl: (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Ahh yes... even though this isn't a thread about my relationship with my ex ;)... Currently I'm not ready to start another relationship, with him or anyone else for that matter. There's somethings I want to do before I go back that way again. And if he wants me back there are something he needs to do to get me back...

The best deal ever for us was the 40% off deluxe postcard we received Dec 07. It had 8 sets of dates that you could choose from over the 2008 year so we booked OKW $189 a night, YC $210 and were upgraded to a waterview for free, Poly for $260 for a MK Waterview room, AKL Club Level for $202 and BWI standard for $210.

It was incredible, we booked 2 ten day trips and one long weekend trip, I wish they would offer this to me again!
