What dinning reservations do you make?

Sorry, I know this has been asked before but the search isn't working for me at the moment.

I'm phoning Disney Dinning tomorrow morning (from New Zealand) to book the Fantasmic Dessert Package and wondered if I should book anything else? Any recommendations? I'm booking the Fantasmic package for Saturday 25 Sept. when we will be at DLR for 2 nights. But we will be returning (after visiting Las Vegas and doing a 7 night cruise) Oct 3-8 and I wondered if I should do any dinning reservations for then?

Or do you think we would be able to just walk up and take our chances? I would like to dine at Blue Bayou and Rain Forest. Any other suggestions?

You will most likely need a reservation at Blue Bayou. I've only been able to walk in once and that was when there was noooo one in the parks. (And it was raining.)

On the other hand, I've never made a reservation at Rainforest. I've had to wait 30 -- 45 minutes but any time I wanted to get in I could.

I would definitely make reservations for both places, but especially Blue Bayou. I would also make reservations for any other table service restaurants that you really want to eat at. October can be pretty busy, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

I like to make reservations for Carnation Cafe since most of the times that we have gone the standby line has been significant.

You can't make ressies for Rainforest through Disney Dining either. When you call a recording will give you that number (sorry I don't happen to know it) so that will require a second call.

And I also would recommend the Carnation Cafe. The food there is out of this world and it is literally right down the middle of Main Street U.S.A. (I sure hope you know that song :) )

How funny - we are there the same time!

You might want to book dinner for WOC- Ariel's or Wine Country.

But generally there are plenty of walk up opportunities especially in DTD, especially mid week (although you might want to check if your October dates cover any halloween party night, which may change the dynamic a bit) We can't say we have any really strong feelings about any of the eating places within DL or DCA that you need to book. (that is, we haven't found the food to be that compelling...BB is an ambiance thing)

Storytellers in the GCH is a good option, but you can book that when you are there if you feel the need.

Happy travels!

Thanks for the replies everyone.

It has helped. I will do a little 'research' tonight and have a list ready for tomorrow morning.

FarmFresh - happy travels to you too!

Definitely make one for BB. RFC you don't have to have one if you don't mind waiting. CC or CO in DL it's good to have a reservation if you want to eat there, especially CC as it has a very small dining area. In DCA I would say a reservation for AG would be a good idea. If you want to do any other character meals (AG has characters for bfast and lunch only) I would suggest a reservation for those as well. :)
