I have three trips to do and we're going again in about three weeks. This trip in August I am going to do by our itinerary (sp?), but the others I don't really remember what we did to do it like that. Plus I figured you don't want them all scrapped the same way as they will be together in the same books. I figure if I am really careful I can get two trips in each book.;)

What other ways do you scrap you trips? Can't wait to hear all your great ideas!!!:)

Thanks,
Wendy

One trip I was able to get done REAL fast by the following method...and it was something different.

I placed photos in a regular album using pocket sleeves. The photos were arranged by day or subject (hotel/park) for the most part.

At the beginning of each new subject / day, I placed a 4x6 piece of cardstock containing title//decorations/journalling in the first photo sleeve spot. If the journalling was long.... I did one of 2 things. I either just used another 4x6 spot for extra journalling OR I typed it up separately on a much larger square, laminated it in the Xyron, and punched 3 holes & added it to the album binder near the appropriate photos.

On journalling squares, I used faint clipart in the background; or borders; appropriate fonts & colors....and even faint photos from the web or maps & logos from the web fit to size.

ALL writing was done on computer. All decorations from computer.

You can even slip memorabilia into sleeve pockets or larger sheet protectors.

I enjoyed doing this album the MOST.......mainly because I got it done real fast.....and got it documented & decorated at the same time!!!!

BTW...this was our 9/11 WDW trip! Lots of emotion & lots to remember.

I have only scrapped one trip so far(I have pics for tons of others)
I organized all my pics by park and then clockwise around each park. I then wrote each title down on a sheet of paper and looked thru all my supplies for decorations etc and wrote down what to put with which title, then I matched cardstock and wrote the colors next to the title. All I had to do then was put it together. This was a 2 week trip and it came out to 100 pages.

I will begin working on the next trip soon, which was only 6 months later, but I have a ton of photos! I think I will organize it the same way!

We did a lot of park hopping last summer, so I decided to scrap by park or theme:

Amtrak Auto Train trip from VA to FL
Magic Kingdom
MGM
Animal Kingdom
Ft. Wilderness
Mickey's Backyard BBQ
Chip 'n Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long
Character Caravan @ FW
Chef Mickey's
GF Pirate Cruise
First Haircut (probably put this with my MK pages)
Itinerary or what we did each day page (done on the computer)

I choose to use a black 8½x11 Creative Memorie album with the intention of using a separate album for each trip. I also kept a trip journal and wrote in it each night ... no lost memories! I'm thinking about typing it up and putting it in the album too.

WOW!!! Thanks for the great replys. I'll be printing these out so I can keep them right with my SB stuff! I am so excited to get started. I will be sure to check out the SB store while I'm there!!

Thanks again!!!:)

These are some great ideas!! I have a client whose album I'll be doing probably sometime early next year (her daughter is 3 years old and has Leukemia. She got her wish from the Make A Wish Foundation and her wish was to go to Disneyworld. I think their trip is in November if I'm not mistaken). I haven't had any Disney pages to work on yet so these are some great ideas for when I have to do this client's album.

If you'd like to see this little girl's album (she's an amazing little girl) of her first year of battling Leukemia (she's in complete remission now! YAY!), you can see it here:

For my youngest son who was 9 at the time. I took the pic of him with the char. and one of the char. signing his autograph book scanned the sign. on cardstock put it all on one page. I used the 8.5 x11 WDW album.
He already has asked me if I was going to make him another book when we go in Nov. ;)

I've done my albums both ways - some trips are chronological - what was done each day. And others are themed - by park, event, etc.

The one I'm working on at the moment is from our recent cruise and is mainly chronological but will have some "theme" sections. For instance there are a bunch of pictures of my daughter at the pools so I'll do something on that as a theme rather than trying to fit it into the proper day.

Have fun!

WOW! What an amazing child! and what a beautiful scrap book. I know I am hijacking this thread....the album is wonderful! It is amazing how something so terrible created such beautiful pages. I am so happy to hear she is in remission and pray that cont.
Is this a business for you? What a great job! Thanks for sharing...
Now back to the topic at hand:
I personally do it by day. I kind of like having the same style in my books. But I can see that if I con't to scrap all of my trips the pages will begin to look alike! LOL! One thing I do try and do one each trip is take a picture at the same spot each year. Just to see how the kids have changed!

I just finished my most recent Disney trip, and I did it by park, I did the first one more chronologically, but this one didn't seem to flow like that. I will also print out my trip report and put that in a pocket page at the end (ok, so it's not quite done yet...)

This will be our first trip to Disney. At this point, I am planning to do our albums (2, one for each child) by using color blocking templates for each page. I have never done an album that is similarly laid out like that the whole way thru, but I have been anxious to try it. I thought the Disney trip might be a good one to try it out with as I expect to have lots of pics and I can fit so many more on each page using color blocking.

For my first Disney Cruise I made my album using only Mickey Colors - Red, Black, Yellow, and White. It came out great! Arranged everything chronologically and used those four colors for any papers. The albumn was Creative Memories Cranberry - which can double as "Mickey Red"!

I've done a few different types of albums for our trips.

Our first trip was in 2000. I lost my camera during the trip and had to use my daughters cheapo camera and a couple of disposable cameras so I really didn't have many good pictures to scrap. So for this trip, I used the small disney photo album that has the 4x6 pages in it. Some photos I just put in plain, others I cropped one photo and did a mini decorated page. There were a few others pages where I cropped the pictures really small and I got two or three small pictures plus a small accent on a 4x6 page. The kids love looking at the small albums.

Our second trip was in 2001. I used the big Disney 12x12 scrapbook album for this trip. I did pages according to parks and events for this book.

I also did a Disney ABC album. I joined a Disney ABC swap so it wasn't quite so hard to complete the book. The really love this book and putting the pictures with the alphabet. I used pictures from all our disney trips in this album.

Happy scrapping

OH!! These ideas are great....I can't wait to get started!!!;) :bounce:
