What did your 2yo like best about Disney World?

My wife and I will be traveling to the world in June, and this will be the first trip for our 2 year old son. Traveling with us is our 8 year old son, and my mother. Just wondering what we should expect from our 2yo? We are planning on rope drop, afternoon resort naps, and a couple of days off. We have ADR for Disney Jr and also SW Breakfast @ H&V, as well as Chef Mickey and 'Ohana breakfasts.

At 2, my kids liked the following from Disneyland (similar to the MK, they've only been to the California parks in the past):

Dumbo
Tiki Room
Autopia (Tomorrow Land Speedway)
Peter Pan
Small World
Jungle Cruise
Carousel
Monorail (ride around the park at D-land)
Pirates of the Caribbean (your mileage may vary with this one, my kids loved it at 2)
Tom Sawyer's Island (had to drag my younger DS off the island, kicking and screaming because he didn't want to leave after 2 hours there)
Astro Orbiter
Buzz Lightyear
Toy Story Midway Mania (at California Adventure, same as the ride in Hollywood Studios).

My two boys loved:

MK:
Dumbo
Tiki Room
Small World (way too much)
Jungle Cruise
Carousel
Little Mermaid
Winnie the Pooh
The Train
The Peoplemover
Any playground they could find.

Epcot:
Living Seas
Imagination (mostly the fountains outside)
Living With the Land
Spaceship Earth

Animal Kingdom:
Safari
Triceratop Spin
The playground (see a trend?)
Rafaki's Planet Watch

DHS:
Little Mermaid Show
The Muppets
Disney Playhouse
Animation Building (character greets)
Honey I Shrunk the Kids (PLAYGROUND!)

Youngest DS loved:

The splash pad on the path to World Showcase in Epcot
Random ducks and birds spotted in the parks
The Mickey waffles, cupcakes and ice cream
The resort pool
The Seas with Nemo (especially the mine, mine birds outside the ride)
The woodchips surrounding the flowers and shrubs in the parks
The Boneyard in AK
The play area by Splash Mountain
The train around Magic Kingdom

So, while he wasn't enamored of the attractions, he found plenty of things to enjoy :)

He turned 2 the day after we returned from that trip. He didn't care for dark rides (including the boat ride in Mexico and the dark portions of the Peoplemover/TTA). Also, he didn't like the Disney Jr Live show - even though he loved the shows at home, he didn't like having to stay put near me and I spent the entire show trying to stop him from kicking the dad in front of us :(

Saving for reference!

The resort pool was his fave :headache:, loved Dumbo, nemo ride and turtle talk.

Ha! Interesting! Piggy backing on your post, since I will be travelling w an 8 yr old and almost 2 yr old myself!

I'm glad to see Dumbo & Jungle Cruise on most lists!

No kidding? When are you traveling and are you driving (how long) or flying?

My 2 year old loved characters, the pool, the Barnstormer, Nemo, the Safari, the Disney Jr. show, and Mickey Bars.

We only went to Magic Kingdom with my two year old but she enjoyed:

Carousel
Dumbo
Little Mermaid
Small World
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Peter Pan
The train around the park
Dream Along with Mickey
Move it Celebrate It dance party/parade
Festival of Fantasy parade
The monorail
Meeting any face characters, full costume characters from a distance only

She DID NOT like
Mickey's Philharmagic- did this to enjoy a few seated minutes in the AC but it was too loud, she didn't like the 3D and especially the 4D (water, air in face) effects

We also did rope drop- she's up way before the parks open anyway took a mid day break for a nap and then went back for the evening. We also spent an entire day at the pool which she loved, with breakfast at Chef Mickey's (and a ride around the monorail). We loved Chef Mickeys, she did want to see those characters but liked that they could wave from the other side of the table. They were great about sneaking behind her, about 6-8 feet or so and posing for a picture "with her" that she didn't even know they were in. That was a fun surprise for her later.

The teacups were the biggest hit of the trip. He also loved all of the play areas, like the Boneyard in AK, and the hotel pool. Dark rides did not go well.

Riding the boats, monorails (hated buses!), seeing Mickey shapes everywhere, iasw, eating treats. Just walking around in wide open spaces, exploring things like rocks and puddles was just as much fun!

He loved "Memo" (Nemo), the trains in Germany at Epcot, the carousel, Dumbo, It's a Small World, fountains, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show at DHS, parades.

Fireworks and characters in suits scared him but he didn't mind the princesses and the Grinch at Universal was also fine, oddly enough. Spaceship Earth was touch and go but ultimately ok.

Sounds exactly how our little guy is with his sleeping patterns. Love the idea of riding the monorail, thanks.

I would have never thought about the trains in Germany. Thanks for sharing this.

Two of our three kids went when they were two. They loved:

resort pool (All Stars)
the kiddie tube ride at Typhoon Lagoon
splash pad near Kali River Rapids
the line for Winnie the Pooh ride (and the ride itself)
the buses (not kidding here) and the monorail
Disney Junior show (we sit in the back and let the two-year-old stand up/dance)
Hollywood & Vine breakfast (and all our character meals)
playing with toys they we bought when we returned to the hotel room

Actually, when we went in August, our kids were 8, 5, and 2, and the 2-year-old did the best overall. I think she didn't really know what to expect so everything was magical, whereas the older kids had sky-high expectations that had to be managed. They all loved it, but the older ones had a few meltdowns.

EVERYTHING! And yes, he liked out hotel pool too! Haha.

At MK he liked everything, but his favorites were-
Rockets
Tomorrowland Speedway
Philharmagic
Teacups
The Fireworks and the projection show on the castle
The Little Mermaid ride and the "Silly little crab" from the queue (he still talks about that crab!)

At AK-
The safari
Flights of Wonder
The Nemo Show
The Lion King show

At Epcot-
Spaceship Earth (obsessed)
The Living Seas
All the fountains (the big one and the one by the imagination area)

At DHS-
Toy Story Mania
Meeting Lightning and Mater
Playing with the bubbles that a cast member was blowing outside Muppet Vision 3d, yes he loved that

He was not impressed much with the Disney Jr. Show probably because he only watched Mickey Mouse clubhouse and didn't know the other shows. Have fun, 2 is such a great age!
