.... when you grew up and what did you turn out to be?

I seem to remember when I was about four that I decided I would be a piano player/chef in the day and ballet dancer in the evenings LOL

Then when I turned seven I got really into learning languages and decided that I would be an interpreter and that was my dream for about 11 years (when I was 7 I also decided to work at Epcot when 18 and I did that!) but the interpreter thing didn't work out so...

... I'm a web designer (and I don't do ballet )

.... I'm from the UK, LOL - are the Dodgers american football/hockey what? (Ps If they are NHL please tell me which state, I'm a big fan of Ice Hockey and like to learn the US team names... my fav being Colorado Avalanche cos' the name is just too fantabulous!)

lets see, at different times in my life I wanted to be a teacher, an actress ( got that bug out of my system in High School thankfully lol), and a mom.


I got one right


I always wanted to be a mom. In fact I found a list I made in High School of things I wanted to do before I die, one was marry a Canadian ( I was really into hockey at the time and had a certain Canadian in mind) I married a different Canadian though, I wanted to have kids, feel loved, and several other things. Only one thing on my list hasnt happened...


I probably wont ever do it either, I read a book about a woman who nearly died and came back with three wishes then she dies after the third one came true... lol

Sorry -- the Dodgers are a baseball team. I played a lot of baseball as a kid and one of my idols at the time played the same position as me for the Dodgers, which were my favorite team at the time (don't ask why, since I lived 3,000 miles away from Los Angeles )

Oh, forgot the second part of your question -- I'm a programmer/consultant right now.

Actually, I would love to have a job listening to tapes of people or events. You know, like the sonar experts.

i wanted to be a politician, but i quickly discovered that i'd rather be working for a politician than actually be the politician. LOL

currently i work in public policy research.

My dream job as a kid was to work at WDW. I turned out to be a teacher and settled for visiting WDW.

I wanted to be a baseball player also. I probably could have been one....but flaked out in high school. Now I'm a paralegal that plays baseball/softball for free - much more noble if you ask me.

As a kid, I wanted something to do with the physical (but not biology or chemistry) sciences. In high school, that narrowed down to something dealing with Physics or Astronomy. In early college, it was Physics, until I discovered Geophysics. That's what I got my degree in.

Now I'm working in the space program (which counted as Astronomy) but rather than doing astronomy or some other actual physical science, I do web and graphics design and I enjoy that more than I ever thought I would.

So I'd say I came fairly close.

After my 3rd trip to WDW at age 14,I decided I wanted to be a dancer in WDW shows or parades. I still would love to do that, but I think Im past my prime.

When I was 5, I announced at Vacation Bible School at the Methodist Church, that I would "grow up, be a nun, get married and have 6 kids"

Then, I wanted to be a teacher or a parole officer


I taught fifth grade for 2 years and felt like I worked with convicts (rough school. One student already on probabtion. He was arrested earlier this year for cocaine)

I worked as a Regional Education Director for a few years and then handled all sales and bookkeeping for a small technology company that wrote software for center management for Sylvan Centers.

Now....I am trying to start my own business that drafts checking accounts for businesses, but am thinking Pharmaceutical Sales is where I want to be next.

But, I HATE WORKING

I doubt that because you are a DIS member. No DIS member is a loser!! I do like your profession you have listed on your profile. Maybe I need to look at that for my next job
