Just wondering, for those that have been members of DVC for a while, have your point values increased or decreased from where you bought compared to the asking prices you see on the resale board.

I bought BWV in 1999 for $65 per point. Definitely higher now.

I also paid $62.50 for the large portion of my points but did 3 add ons at around $48 pp with magical beginnings + cm discount. I think DVC was barely 5,000 members back then.

We bought a resale of VWL in Aug 2004 and the value has increased.

We bought a BWV resale in 2002 for $63 a point.

We paid $56 per point back in 1993, but were able to buy an OKW contract at $50 per point in 1999. We also purchased HH for $56 per point in 1995 (pre-construction) due to changes made in our original contract prior to closing. (The resort changed some of the features they originally offered.)

At what time do you feel points will start dropping in value once it gets closer to 2042? Prices will have to eventually peak then start coming down as people will be getting less in return. I'm pretty young so it does impact me. It's the reason why I went with SSR and not the resale market. Has DVC addressed this? Will DVC offer existing owners some sort of extension at a reduced rate or ???

We bought in at $65 per point back in early 2000 and added on Vero at the same price in late 2002.

I purchased BWV in Oct 2000 for $67 per point and BCV in construction pre-opening for $70 per point, I know it was in Feb but cannot remember which yr! Both have increased in value today on the resale market.

Bought contract #1 from Disney in 1997, $62.50/point at OKW. Bought contract #2 resale in 2002 for $65/point at OKW.

Don't know if the point values have gone up, I assume they have. I am not planning on selling, so it's not something I follow, if you KWIM.

KJM4 - even if you sold in 20 years, there would be 30 years useage less. Probably Disney will eventually stop doing ROFR, which will bring the prices down, but they will go up an awful lot in 20 years, before they start coming down, so I can't see anyone who buys now having to sell less than they paid. The way I see it - if I decided to sell in 20 years and only made back what I'd paid now, I'd have a lot of great holidays behind me for the price of the dues. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
