What did you just discover that seemed cool to you?

I had told my 7 year old dd last week about Cinderella's favorite horse on the caurosel (did I spell that right?). She found is right away and was albe to ride on it!!

We were sitting on a bench on the porch outside of Pecos Bill's eating a bag of Cheetos. I had a Cheeto in my hand while I was talking and gesturing, and a bird suddenly flew towards my face and took the Cheeto right out of my hand! So we started holding the Cheetos up and getting the birds to come and get them. My son put one on the bill of his baseball hat, and a bird landed on his head and took the Cheeto! It was great fun...we can't wait to do it again on our next trip!

That is not good news for me. My DD is TERRIFIED of birds. We cant dine out doors at Disney because of the darn birds.I wish no one would feed them then they wouldnt be so aggressive. They are wild animals.

MICKEEP.........Cinderella's horse is the one with the gold bow/ribbon on its tail. It is the only horse on the carousel that has it. Jim

I guess my persoanl discovery is Figaro Fries at Pinnochio's village hause. MMM MMM goood. only place they sell them.

There are ghosts riding Bicycles in the back left of the grave yard sceen

the reason liberty square has a brown section of stone "flowing" down the middle of the street is because its to reperesent the sewers of that time period. theyw ere in the middle of the road.

you can hear a chipmunk couple arguing in one of the houses in the splash mountin que. sometimes, although i haven't heard it in a while. all the houses hanging in the trees sing the how do you do song taking thier turns and parts. really cool if you get to hear it.

There are working Nickelodeons in the main street train station. But they were not working the last time i went.

Tinker bell use to be seen flying around when you get on Peter pans flight. it was an actual figure of her that bobbed around. I asked a cast memeber about it and they said she has not worked for years. :guilty:

there is a somewhat secret path that takes you right up to the tree of life, over the bugs life cue and under a water fall. you can enter it throught the bugs life fast pass section and take the path on the left. You will follow the bug exit line but then you break off. sometimes at the end you can catch a cast member feeding bruce their large asian catfish. who is still just a baby.
he apparently really likes strawberries.

Wow! This is one reason I love the DIS-afte over 20 trips, I'm still learning things here. I never knew about those ghosts. However, I did know about that path at AK and I love it. However, I didn't know about the catfish there.

Just a little FYI- the walkway with the Wishing Well is currently closed. The whole walkway will be closed until construction with the castle is done.

omg thank you for the info, but dang it.
i really wanted to see the wishing well.
how long have they been working on the castle now?
i'm sorry, but i don't think it should be taking them this long because even though they want it to be perfect, its not like its a gigantuous real castle in Europe or something.
But, I guess I'll just have to be patient.

It's been closed for over a month. And they are working on getting the castle ready for the one-night castle stays.

well, I know that one of the things I discovered just BEFORE going on our most recent trip (Oct 06) and remembered to look for:

When in Epcot, look from Future World across the World Showcase lagoon at Morocco. You'll see that because of the forced perspective you may not realize it, but the very top of the pavillion is ACTUALLY the top of Tower of Terror in the distance...

...when they were building the Tower, they knew that because of it's height you would be able to see it from Epcot and rather than pull the guests out of their experience, they would continue the "story" for the Epcot guests and match the upper half of the building to the existing architecture in Morocco.

---

During the trip, I was absolutely fascinated by the Tomb Warriors exhibit in China...it really makes you think about how connected/similar so many different cultures actually are (since this Tomb is so similar to Egyptian Pyramids inside). The vastness of this thing is just enough to make your jaw drop (especially when you realize how long ago this was all built...).

I just discovered (from another thread on this forum), that they have Grand Marnier Orange slushies, and Grey Goose Vodka Citron Slushies (that taste like frozen lemonade) in the beverage stand across from the restaurant in France. Supposedly these were added about 4 months ago in Epcot, probably the most coolest new drink change in Epcot since the Frozen Margarita in Mexico...lol.

And that is definitely cool :thumbsup2

My son and I had a pleasant surprise back in March 2005 in a shop on Main Street. It was in the sports apparel store which I think is called the Athletic Club. Not only did the store have great looking sports clothes but it had some neat displays. At one side of the store near the windows we saw an old antique mechanical baseball game that looked like it was from the 40's or early 50's.

My son wanted to play it but I told him that it was probably only a display and it most likely wouldn't work, but as it was only 10 cents, we gave it a try. What a surprise! It worked! My son and I spent about half an hour popping in dimes playing this great game.

I've never seen anybody mention this game before so I don't think it's that well known. I hope it's still there as we plan to play it a few times again when we go in early December. :Pinkbounc

That used to be in the Penny Arcade that I remember being on the corner of Main Street on the left as you look at the castle. I remember playing that game!

More info on the Penny Arcade from: allears.net

"The Penny Arcade was listed as an attraction in the early information guides for the park as well, though it did not require a ticket for entry. The arcade featured hand-cranked antique movie-showing machines that worked a bit like a flip book. You put your coin in the machine, put your eyes to the viewfinder, then a series of photos would flip by. Other machines were predecessors to the modern jukeboxes, being automated music-making machines, a sort of one-man band under glass. This attraction closed in 1995 and the space was absorbed into the retail along Main Street (Main Street Athletic Company). Some of the machines from the arcade still survive -- a few are in the Main Street Train Station, including a Sebring (one of the one-man band machines) located in the lobby of the station."
