I am curious what foods are served at the Illuminations dinner for the Magical Gatherings option as well as the desserts or snacks for the Magic Kingdom experience. I can't find the details on that online anywhere, and I am trying to gauge if I want to book those for our party of 8 with food allergies?

Thanks in advance!

I've only done the safari grand gathering which was an african themed meal. I know I've seen reviews on the ones you've asked about. I would do a search of the trip report board and see if anything comes up. I found this on all ears:

Also I've heard Disney is very good with allergies so I would call disney dining and ask them. Then make sure they note the allergies in the reservation for the grand gatherings.

Sleepingbean, this is info from over a year ago, so things might've changed. But at the Illuminations dinner, there were several "stations" set up in the old Odyssey restaurant, each station serving buffet items from different countries. My memory is a little hazy (sorry!) but I do recall an Italian station with fresh pasta and different toppings, made right before you ... Morocco had chicken and beef dishes ... one station was all salads ... I was impressed by how fresh everything was, with items such as stir-fries being prepared right there. We were a group of 12, and even the pickiest had plenty to choose from (there was one table with the standard chicken tenders, mac and cheese, etc.) I'm guessing there were 7 or 8 different stations. Absolutely no complaints.

The desserts were served in a reserved area behind one of those little shops right on the edge of the lagoon where the walkway from Future World ends. I don't remember anything outstanding ... it might be that the presentation of all the little cakes, pies, and tarts was actually better than the actual item. But the setting, and the viewing area for Illumination, was stellar. It was all a high point of our trip.
