As of right now, no one is going down to FL with us to attend our wedding. So what do I do with DF while I'm preparing? He can't get ready at the same place as me, after all. It would ruin the suprise of how fabulous I want to look.

I thought of maybe getting a GF or Poly room for the night of the wedding, but there is no guarantee they will let us check in early. Our ceremony is at 2:30, so I'll have hair/makeup people coming at like 9:30/10:00.

If we had people coming with us, DF could get ready at their place. But we weren't going to do that b/c I don't even know where to begin planning a "reception" for 4 or 6 people. Plus, I worry it would be really overpriced.

Suggestions??

thats a tough one! well, if hes like most guys, it will take all of 10 minutes for him to get ready, so you oculd always kick him out of the room for a few hours, he could play golf, sit inthe lobby, go to teh pool etc. etc. and then you can leave teh room and go take pictures by yourself for a few minutes or something while he goes up to teh room and gets ready maybe? :confused3

Mine will most likely be hanging out at the ESPN club ! Of course, we are staying at the Boardwalk so it will be very handy for us. He could go out and get breakfast (or lunch, depending on your ceremony time) and bring you something back...knocking and leaving it outside your door so as not to see you ! Pool, hot tub, exercise room...it's Disney, there is always something to do.

Just to respond to this portion of your post, if the only thing keeping you from inviting a few people to join you is the hassle of planning some kind of reception, you may want to consider a meal at one of the hotel restaurants. Most Intimate/Escape brides do this, since their package doesn't include a formal reception. It's very easy to make a reservation through Disney Dining, and you could go to one of the less fancy restaurants if you're worried about the cost. Just a thought! :thumbsup2

My thoughts exactly - there's nothing to plan if you just book a reservation at a great Disney restaurant! I think Narcoosee's or California Grill would be wonderful.

We are staying at all star movies, and like you, don't have extra people coming with us. What I have done is rent an extra room for the night BEFORE the wedding. I am sending DF over there the night before. I am hoping for a late checkout for him. We are also getting married at 2:30. So, I figure, worse case scenario, he will have to cool his heels for a little while.

It is just me and my DF going down to Disney, staying at the GF and getting married at the Yacht Club. We are getting married at noon. We are going to get up that morning, have breakfast (if I'm not too excited to eat!) and then he is going to get ready and into his tux and then head down to the lobby until the limo arrives at 11:00 to pick him up. We have already put Black Hawk Down (his favorite movie) on my video Ipod so he can watch that while he is waiting down there. Once he leaves the room (around 9:30) I will start to get ready.. That's just my plan...

You might want to email/call the hotel you are staying at and ask if there is something they can do to help you, you never know they might do something special! Never hurts to ask :wizard:

My DH and I stayed in seperate rooms the night before our wedding. I stayed with my family and he stayed with his. I dont know what we would have done if it was just the two of us..probably nothing. Im glad we did cause I had a very hard time trying to keep my dress a surprise but it was worth it. I like the ESPN idea if he's in sports. :happytv: Watching a game and drinking a beer like its any other day. Guys have it so easy.
