I'm new here. I hope this is the right place to post this.
We are going to Disney World in April, and I have found myself purchasing stuff for the trip already! So far the list includes rain ponchos, "glow" necklaces, "stroller connectors" to make 2 umbrella strollers into a double, and swim shirts for my daughters.
I was wondering if anyone else has been busy at the stores, and, if so, what did you buy?

I've bought car trip activities/games (lots of stuff at Disney Store clearance and printable pages here), Disney Store T's and sweatshirts, shorts, capris and T's for dd who outgrew her warm weather clothes, Princess bathing suits, Baggalini wallet bag, glow necklaces, Columbia sandals for dd's, New Balance running shoes for me, Sharpies for autographs, Disney dollars for rewards...I'm sure there's more! So far I've avoided the Croc mania here but there's still time.:rotfl:

I bought one bag that was big enough to carry what I would need all day but not so big it would be a pain to carry. I got DD some new summery clothes and a cover up. I also got my DS some new stuff because a lot of last summers things won't fit. I got the little ankle socks for us all so we have something comfie in the sneaks, but they don't make you to hot either. Make sure to get travel size bottles of shampoo and stuff if you like a particular brand. Get a few if you'll be gone a while and the great thing is you can throw them out when your trip is over and not have to take them back home:) I also bought snacks I could carry around easily for the kids when they got the munchies, that way I wasn't constantly having to buy stuff in the parks. I did that for breakfasts too so we could cut down on some of the food expenses even though we were on the DDP. I have been on the hunt for new quiet toys for them for on the plane too. I think it's fun to have some new stuff for that and it keeps them occupied longer because they've never played with them before:woohoo:. Lots and lots of film as it is way cheaper at home then in the parks. I am also going to get new sunglasses for the kids, which are a must, and goggles for the DH and me.

If you want a double stroller I would rent one of theirs and return what you bought. It is so much easier and if you buy a lengh of stay ticket you pay once and save $2 pr day. The double strollers are $16 pr day with the discount and then you don't have to lug a stroller around with you everywhere:yay:.

Our trip is not until October and we have a ton of stuff from last September's trip like matching Tshirts that still fit everyone and misting fans we bought in the parks. I ordered a Baggalini and we got a new video camera since ours died on the last trip. Also picked up those small light up fans from Disney store to put away for the trip. I have to pick up poncho's Glow necklaces and new swimsuits for everyone and as well as some new clothes for kids for summer and the trip since they have grown a bit. Also we need some new movies and toys for the car ride. I try to pick up some stuff here and there before the trip.

Best things I bought for our trip week before last was a shoe hanger that hangs over a door and a folding clothes hampers. The shoe hanger had like 24 plastic pockets that were clear and we organized everything from tooth brushes to camera into them. So easy to find what we wanted and the counter stayed clear. The hamper was a last minute add from the dollar store. We put it in the corner and tossed all the dirty clothes in there. When we packed to leave I sorted colors and white from it and put them in different suitcases making laundry a snap when we got home.

Other things I bought...
Disney store shirts (on sale throughout the year)
magazines
foot care stuff -mole skin etc.
Dramamine and ginger tabs
crystal lite singles
ponchos
new socks and underwear for me
New Minnie Pj's for ME.
Some confortable pants for DS, DH, & ME
a new sling back pack (LOVED IT)

I tried to let our cosmetic stuff get down to about a weeks worth so we could use it and toss it on the trip. Bought a few things in small containers.

What a great idea on the shoe hanger and laundry sorting. We used a suitcase for the dirty clothes, but what a great idea to seperate them by color in the suitcases for easy laundry duty :laundy: when you get home. I love that. I also think the shoe thing is excellent. It would come in handy because you'd know where things were which would make it easier to get out the door every day. I also love that you can keep the bathroom counter clean that way. We were at a value resort last time and the vanity was so small you had no room to put anything. I will definately be steeling that idea for our trip at the end of next month:cutie:.

We don't leave until December and I have already started buying things and making list of what else I need to buy! I have a shoebox in the top of my closet and as I remember things that we will need I write it on a index card and toss the card in the box. This way when I go to do my packing hopefully I don't forget anything. So far I have bought ponchos and fanny packs for the two of us. I wanted the fanny packs that can hold a water bottle so as soon as I saw them I bought them. Would hate to not have been able to find them when the time came to go.

I leave in 24 days and haven't bought much yet - ACK! I did find some ponchos at the dollar store, and I ordered my new double stroller (which I love so far).

Went to the Disney Store sale a few weeks ago and bought t-shirts, hats, socks & some little travel toys.

Where are you getting the glow necklaces? I want to get some of that stuff as well.

I found a large selection of glow jewelry at our Dollar Tree. They came in packs with multiple items (bracelets,etc...) for a dollar. I always get extra in case we get there and one doesn't work! (I've had good luck with our Dollar Tree ones, in the past.)
