My Bridesmaids are paying for their Dresses, shoes, & Hair.
If I can and I have the extra money, I'll cover the cost of hair. But I also asked everyone if they wanted their hair & make-up done and said it was up to them. I also didn't care how it was. I would have wanted everyone to get their make-up professional done, but I didn't have the money to pay for it for all of them so I didn't ask them to.
As for dresses, I asked that they get a Dress in the color I wanted (Pool) and let them pick the dresses they liked best. If they're paying for the dress, I want them to at least like it!
I suggested a pair of Flip-flops, silver from Target for $12.99. Not sure if everyone will go with them yet. The girls have actually been looking at heals from David's Bridal. But I don't want them spending alot more money than they have already. I'm pretty much leaving it up to them (something my MOH sister is freaking out about, she cares how it looks more than I do!)
I've been concerned about cost for my bridesmaids because of economy and because they are paying to travel to Disney. It's alot to ask for so I'm trying to be cheap when I can, that's why I let them pick dresses from David's Bridal because I think they have inexpensive bridesmaid's dresses (in Philly at least) and found inexpensive shoes that work too.
I'll probably buy jewelry for them as part of their gift because I want them to wear starfish pieces as part of the theme. I'm thinking of Bracelets for two of them (because they're necklines are high) and necklaces for the other two.
So as they saying goes, if you want something specific, you should pay for it. Having open communication with your bridesmaids is the best thing. I was prepared to deal shop online & on ebay in case my bridesmaid didn't want to pay full rate for the dress, but it wasn't a probelm for anyone to buy it from a store.
