Ok, so I made really cute 4th of July shirts from one of the Disigns on here. They were really cute, until I put them on the shirts. The went on ok, lots of iron holes though. But even before I washed them they were falling apart. Accidently washed them and now they are no more.

Do you wash your shirts before you put on the designs or not?

We are leaving in a week for a quick, unplanned trip and are going to MNSSHP. I would love to surprise to have a cute shirt or 2. But am afraid of butchering them.

Wash before with no fabric softener. Dry with no dryer sheet. Then Iron on. Make sure to put the parchment paper that came with the transfer paper or use wax paper over the design while ironing. Iron for 2 minutes then remove paper. When I wash mine after we were them with the iron on, I do not put them in the dryer.

When you wash them turn them inside-out! If you have to put them in the dryer do it for only a few minutes to get the wrinkles out (make sure it's still inside out when you throw it in the dryer!!) then flip it right side out and hang it outside or on a hanger inside to finish drying!
Also, make sure that you check while ironing to make sure the transfer is completely done (if one little edge is up it'll all come up in the wash!!)
Unfortunately, in my experience none of the computer printer iron on transfers are wonderful but, doing these few little things helped mine last a while!! I hope this helps ya! Good luck! :thumbsup2

I had the same problem with the iron holes on the first shirt that I made. I was leaving the iron in the same spot for too long. I have since made bags for MNSSHP that have turned out perfect. I put the iron on one spot about 10-15seconds, then lifted the iron staight up and placed on another part of the design. I cont that til the whole transfer had been set. Then I kept the hot iron moving over the design for the 2 minutes. Let completely cool then took off the wax paper.
