What day do you start your vacation?

What day of the week do you typically begin your vacation? On a Saturday? Monday? Just curious.

We always begin our vacation on Saturday and end it on the next Sunday. We usually get to Disney around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and spend that day at the resort and go out somewhere nice to eat.

We are flying down on a Friday and first park day will be Saturday. We fly home the following Friday.

Saturday to Sunday is what I prefer. If I had more days off, I'd start Friday.

Usually saturday to saturday, as I hate getting home late and having to go to work the next day. This trip I said who cares, and we are going saturday to sunday. Rather have 1 more day in disney and be tired for a week, then 1 less day and we rested.

We go Saturday to Saturday because that is the only day Airtran offers a non-stop flight to or from Orlando. Personally, I'd rather go Wednesday to Wednesday, but we love the inexpensive non-stop flight offered by Airtran ($59 one way!)

Currently planning a December 9-16, 2006 trip!

We either leave on a Friday evening and come home the following Friday, or early Sat. morning and return the following Sat. This time around we are leaving on a Sat.

For my solo trips to WDW I like to avoid the weekends, and since I am happy with a five night stay, I drive down on a Monday morning (less than a five hour drive from my hometown), and drive back home on Saturday morning. This gives me 4 1/2 days, one for each of the four parks, and the Monday half day for extra time in Epcot because it takes me a bit more than one day to cover that park. Also, this plan includes an evening (when the Animal Kingdom closes at 5:00), to add an evening attraction, or this year, the Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom.)

Works for me.

I like to have a day off pre-vacation...to pack and organize, and a day off post-vacation to do laundry, go thru mail, pay bills, etc.

So usually Friday - Sunday.

We are Sat to Sat folks.

But last year DM went so we did a Sun to Sun as SAt is her busiuos day

Last trip was Sat to Tues
Dec is Mon to Fri.

We are all over the place.

We used to fly in very early on Saturday and back late on Sundays -- to get the most out of the vacation days from work. Since joining DVC, though, we fly down on Sunday and back on Friday.

Friday and Saturday nights at DVC resorts cost almost twice the points as other nights. Even though it means "wasting" the days we have off from work at home instead of in Florida, the shift cuts out those overly-expensive nights.

I've found for me we normally start vacation on a Friday (I usually take the day before off for cleaning/packing/etc) and end it the following Friday, just in time for the girls to be dropped at their dad's for his weekend visitation. (and I get a weekend of recovery before going back to work :thumbsup2) Who says there are no perks to divorce ;)

It varies. If I can save money by going on a Friday or even Thursday, I will. We have also gone on other days of the week too. I rather prefer to avoid Sat to Sunday as that seems like the most busy time. ot only is the airport less busy, the check-in at the resort is also less crowded.

It varies but we like having the weekend to come home to. So this trip we're doing a friday to friday.

Me too. I prefer coming home a day early so I have a day of down time before having to go back to work.

This trip we are leaving on Thursday and coming home the following week on Saturday.

It varies from one trip to the next. We seldom take a whole week at one time, so usually it's a Tues/Wed out, and a Sunday return.:earsboy:

Same for us DH has his own business so we have to include weekends or a holiday if possible. Our next trip is Mon.-Tues. a long one for us.

We are at the mercy of the ridiculous airfare from Nova Scotia to Florida. For a bit of cost saving, it's cheaper to travel during the week Tues, Wed, Thurs.

So, we usually depart early, early on Tues. and hit the parks Tues. afternoon or Wed. morning.
