Just wondering if it's even possible for day 2? Or do I need to plan for AK later in the trip? We are staying onsite. Thanks!

I had no problem getting one on day 3 (with my check in date a Thursday and FOP on Sat., an EMH day at AK). The morning ones were taken, but I got 2:30. A few weeks later, additional ones were released and I switched to a 9:15am one. I was only looking for myself, rather than a group, but I think you’ll be fine. You just might not have as good of a pick of times.

Thanks! I'm not too worried about the times, and actually I guess I'd prefer later in the day, so that may work to my advantage :-)

I think you should go ahead and check for Day 2 first if that's your first choice but definitely have a backup plan.

We are going next week, check-in Sunday and FOP booked for Wednesday (I didn't check earlier days), though the earliest I could move it was 3:05 p.m. (originally was 3:55). I didn't check the other days. Also, AK has regular opening at 8 all that week, extended park hours, so more fastpasses.

So when are you going? If the hours are shorter, there'll be less FP+ available. Also...when are you going?...starting January 10 more hotels (Disney Springs) will also be able to start booking FP+ at 60 days out. Also, if they were cheaper hotels, their stays might be longer than if they were 'onsite.'

So when our window first opened we were trying for day one of our February trip in the evening but had no luck. We had picked day seven of our trip as our back up day and we easily got them for that day in the early morning. However, when I went back in about a week later to modify some other passes, I figured I would look just for the heck of it and see if we could get them - and there were suddenly FOP passes available for day one of our trip. We grabbed those. They are for 5:15, and we wanted them for that late. So while we were not able to get them initially when our window opened up, we still managed to get them for the first day of our trip when we checked back about a week later. You may or may not get them - but there's still hope for them if you keep checking back. And we are staying onsite.

It depends on luck and the crowds. We are going the last weekend in January and was able to snag 3 FP+ for 11:ish for three of my days and I was only 53 days out. And then, some lucky soul got two of those days a week later when I cancelled them.

Was there December 2 to 8. At 60 days, I got one for day 5 of our trip, 9:20am that's the day I was planning for AK. We used our 3 FP's and were eating lunch when I started playing with the app and was able to get another FOP FP for 2:05pm (2 people). So keep trying. I was able to get same day fastpasses for many of the "hard to get" by going into the app and keep refreshing (click between the times). I was also able to get 7DMT, TSM, TOT, Soarin same day.

If you’re booking after Jan 10, I would take everything you hear now with a grain of salt. The experience after the DS hotels have 60 day FPs could be very different.

I was able to score a FP for my first day by checking back every day for about two weeks. Now the whole system went down about a 1/2 hr after I scored it so it may have been glitch but its worth checking back!

It depends on luck. I was able to snag one for all three days of this trip about a Month ago. I looked a couple of days ago for our Feb trip and they’re all gone already.

Also, you can start checking this site before your day to book FP+ comes to get an idea of availability.

Thanks for posting this - I have the touring plans subscription but never knew i could check the FP availability on the website.

I agree! Thank you! Didn't know this existed either…on a side note, I think the TP website isn't very user friendly, though there is some really useful information on there.

Thanks, everyone!

I tried to get one on my second day and couldn’t get one, I did get FP for two days towards the end of my trip.

second day (and this was 8 days out when the date was decided)

They were available 60+4 but we can't make it there that day. Will keep checking though and hope to get lucky.

Besides the 2 FP+s I'd booked at the 60-day mark--one on day 6 and one on day 8 of the trip--I was able to score 3 day-of FP+s (Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday) for FOP while I was there. Just kept trying. In fact, the last FOP FP+ I scored (on departure day), I scored 1.5 hours before the FP+ time, which was 2:55 p.m. So--it is possible. And the ride is amazing.

BTW, one of the days I got a day-of FP+, there was a nearly 5-hour wait time posted.

You give me hope. :flower3:
