What date do YOU think Disney will announce FD for early 2013?

Since I have nothing to do but or while waiting for Disney to announce FD for our Jan 31-Feb 8, 2012 trip, I thought it would be fun to start a thread that is similar to a "birth date pool" where instead of trying to guess the date of when a baby will be born, you make a guess on which date you think Disney will announce FD for the GP for the first half of 2013.

I would say somewhere between Sept 29 and Oct 1. That is based on the fact that the current FD promo ends at that time. Drives me nuts since it was Aug 3 last year when FD was released for winter dates like jan/feb! Argh!! Wish they'd hurry up and I'd be more than thrilled to be wrong if they'd go ahead and offer it now! Ha!

Hey, maybe this is how Disney executives make the decision to release it every year? They just have a bunch of dates that everyone writes down and then they pull one out of the hat LOL.

I truly have no idea when it might be released.....but I'll venture a guess for September 9th. Of course this guess is based on years of scientific research and computerized data......well maybe it was just me glancing over at my calendar LOL.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest they'll announce free dining September 12, 2012 for dates in January through March.

I'm basing my wild guess the unlikelihood of them announcing free dining the first week of September (kids in the Northeast historically go back to school that week, as well as Monday being Labor Day), or the fourth week (which has Yom Kippur in it). So if it's coming in September, it has to be the second or third week. They typically do not announce new promotions on Monday or Friday. And it's unlikely they'll announce on 9-11. So, that leaves 9-12-12 as my guess as to the earliest date of announcement. Being an optimist, that's my guess.

That's when we're planning on going too! Haven't booked our flights yet, so it might be a day or two either way - whichever is the best deal!

I'm guessing after the current dining promo ends is when it will be announced.

I was really hoping for early August like last year - I missed out on some good flight prices and am kicking myself for not booking - free dining or not!

I just hope it's soon but really I think monday oct 1st as soon as the current offer expires. Just hope it's free dining instead of room only discount but we will take whatever. Just give us something...march 2nd-9th

I'll say October 1st. I hear they like to announce new specials on Mondays, and this would be after the current promo. With my luck, this will be the year they stop FD for January!

i'll guess sept 24th. it's a monday and a week before one of the current specials runs out i think. oct 1st seems likely tho.

Im going with September 24th too. But, hey ill take anything as our usually 11 day trip has more than doubled for 2013 so im hoping for either FD or a percentage off or its gonna be a micro 4 day WDW trip. Come on pin code fairy.

I'm going to guess Oct 1st. We are booking a trip for our 16th anniversary for the end of feb. Free dining would be great so I am keeping my fingers crossed

Do you know If the FD promos for fall and winter overlapped last year? In other words, did winter FD come out before fall FD expired?

Mousesavers has the historical dates and it loos like fall and winter FD came out at the same time (8/03).

I wish they would announce something now- this wait is torture- but my guess is 9/27.

I'm going to guess that they release some type of promotion on October 11th and that it would run through the end of the year, for Spring 2013 dates.

I'm anxiously awaiting too, would like to go for first week of February for birthdays, or Mardi Gras holiday week.

I'm shooting for 10/1. We just booked a 1 bedroom at BLT today via AAA, and I wasn't going to do it this soon except there was an availability issue on that type of room with the AAA discount. I had to go with the discount I KNOW, not the possible one. FD would save us a few hundred more than AAA.

I really think oct 1st we will see something....if not I don't think I can take it. Free dining will save us 1500 and without it we won't be dining at the same places for sure. Sad ...we really love the eating part about as much as the parks, it's so fun and yummy.
