What daily task do you consider to be a waste of time

We always make the bed. The room looks so crappy without it. Our DD makes her now too.

It is very easy is you just use a comforter.

Any task that makes the house look better, the family clean and the like is not a waste of time.

If you want to know what tasks I hate to do then I would say cleaning the toilet. I prefer it when my butt is closer to it than my face.

Wait- you think making the bed is more important than cleaning the toilet?!!!?? I clean the toilet all the time - never make the bed completely, never.

However, I heard on TV yesterday that not making a bed keeps bedbugs and dust mites away or some such thing. Hmm...

The Doctors right? I heard it too and my son said "See I was right all along, I don't need to make my bed anymore."
When I read the post The Doctors episode was my first thought. I love this show.

I hate putting clothes away too. Im forcing myself to now a days insted of living out of the laundry basket. I also hate cleaning my craft space.
Kimmear- its got night and day settings but my living room is dark when I get up and dark in general so I have to turn on a lamp for it to register.
shaving my legs in the winter. I mean who can even see all my hair (unless there at my house and see my legs)
Plannin shannon- I hate doing dishes too. I guess its time to wash them this week since i ran out of bowls (thats around 10 dirty)

I am the making the bed camp. I don't do it unless company is coming or I am cleaning anyway. Otherwise, everyone just fixes the tangled up sheets and gets back in at night.

I think the the most useless task I do at least once a day is putting the toilet paper on the holder. The teens around here like the empty cardboard on there and sitting the tp on the counter so that it gets wet instead. Cuz, they can't brush their teeth or their face without the water going full speed and splashing as they go. So, in the interest of not losing whole rolls of toilet paper I go around taking the cardboard off and the new roll on...LAZY!

I am sure I can think of 100 things I think are useless...like putting away clean dishes and folding towels!

Even though I DO do it, I think cleaning the house PERIOD is a waste of time. LOL Seriously, I could spend all day cleaning the house top to bottom, then DH and the boys come in and BAM, 3-minutes later, a total waste of time. I swear, I am so sick and tired of everyone coming into the house (through the kitchen) and just having the kitchen table a dumping ground for backpacks, lunch boxes, coats, homework, work uniforms, etc. AARRGGHHHH. You know, I couldn't really care less what the bedrooms look like when company comes off (always can shut the door) but please leave my kitchen, living room and bathroom clean.

But seriously, I would have to say that I do not make the bed either. I despise making it but then hate getting in bed at night with the sheets all messed up. Go figure. The only time I do make it is.....when I change the sheets on the weekend.

Seeing this thread was funny. - I was just wondering yesterday why I fold washcloths instead of just getting a basket to dump them into.

The bed is a mood thing for me. As far as sleeping goes, I really don't mind it kind of a nest, but DH likes it made. So I'll do it just to be nice if I have time. BUT, if the rest of the house is cluttered, I'll also do it just so I have one neat room to escape to.
