What CROCS did for me!!

I haven't been on here in a while because we have had a very busy school year but I saw this thread and just had to post!
I bought a pair of bright pink beach crocs right after christmas. My husbands response was this: " Your not going to wear them IN PUBLIC are you?"
"I said of course not, they're ugly." His reply to that was, "you're not telling me anything I don't already know."

fast forward about 2 weeks........ 2 weeks of peoples head snapping as I walked by in the store or at my kids schools and I forgot to take them off one evening before he got home.
Well maybe I implied that I wouldn't wear them OUT IN PUBLIC, but what I meant was that I wouldn't wear them out in public WHEN I WAS WITH HIM!

His comment was an "Oh Jeez" and a chuckle because COME ON, he knows me better than that. I have a bad back and have spent the last 10 years almost exclusively in birkenstocks! I gave up on shoe fashion long ago.
I have been wearing my crocs since January and love them.
I do, however prefer to wear them with a thin pair of little socks- liners I guess they are called or no shows. I am on the go all day and I don't like the feeling of sand or grit in my shoes. wearing them with little socks keeps your feet clean and in my opinion, they ultimately keep your feet cooler by wicking away moisture- you don't get that sweaty feel. For WDW I would definitely suggest some socks that way your feet won't get sweaty and possibly set you up for a friction blister.
*just my opinion. You'all have to just try them with and without to see for yourself.
And I wear them with the strap in front, not too crazy about the way the strap feels around back. Maybe if I was really running in them I might try that but they are very stable on your feet- no falling off feeling whatsoever.

I bought a pair of size small but wear an 8, 81/2 shoe size.39 in birks. My feet are very wide- square even, (think Fred Flintstone)
These shoes are great and I think I have started a trend in my little town. Suddenly I am see people of all ages in them.

The very best part of this story is the end.
Guess what my husband brought home the other night?
You guessed it People---

A pair of crocs for himself!

I am now a part of the "club"! I ordered my PURPLE beach today and a coworker order a pair too! She is preg. and her feet are so swollen! We got the RED for her. I bought them from Sahalie and they are being shipped today!!! I am so excited!!! I live in my Birks and am interested in seing how these compare.

I ordered a pair of Nile sandals. Just found out they have been shipped and I should get them by the 12th.

I too have worn birkenstocks for several years, I have about 20 pair. When I saw this post yesterday I immediately went to the website to check it out. I looked under retailers & found that they are sold at Bass Pro which is about 15 minutes from my house. Long story short, I bought a pair last night & so far I love them. I have had them on all morning & they feel great. If this works out I will be thrilled. Do you know how many pair I could have of these compared to Birkenstocks ? :cool1:  :cool1: One of every color practically :cheer2:

I did find one thing kind of humorous. In some of the posts I read yesterday there were alot of Canadians trying to find them with no luck. When I picked up the shoes to see the size it reads "Made in Canada" :rotfl2:

Get this - I entered my local HALLMARK store yesterday to buy a birthday card and what do they have right there up front - smack dab in the front as you walk in - a whole display of CROCS!

Now I never had a pair of these on before but I sat there and made such a big fuss about these shoes in the middle of the store- how I read all about these on a disney board and how much people love them - I went on and on that by the time I was leaving - 4 other people were buying a pair!

The card store wants to hire me as a spokesperson. So if you live anywhere near Harrisburg PA, I have a Hallmark card store that is now selling CROCS!!!

Go figure!!

I haven't worn them yet, by I am now the proud owner of a pair! How could I passs that up! It was a sign!!! So I had to buy them. At least that was the story I told DH. And as typical with him, he said, "the Disboards again, right?!!!" He just can't figure me out.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I hope you put them on, this is funny because I wonder how many of us will just buy them--ME! I am thinking that maybe they will look good on the mantle...colors to match our decore :rotfl2:
Okay, I am guilty of just wanting to buy them...you know in case there is a nuclear fall out or heaven forbid "they should run out" :rotfl2: You know, as a safe guard for the future.
I wonder if there will be a wasteland of crocs in 200 years that havent decomposed yet or won't!! :rotfl:

:rotfl: Thank you all so much!! :teeth:

I now want more than one pair!! :rotfl:

and by the way, if you havent ventured over (down, whatever!) to the Community Board - WHY NOT?!! :rotfl: :rotfl: Seriously, there is a thread that is asking about SHOES, and people are recommending tevas, and Birks, and *gasp walking shoes, Ecco... all great, but why is it that *I* am the ONLY one that stopped in to say "CROCS"? hmmmmm???? :rotfl2:

OMGosh...what is wrong--have we not been speading the word effectively!!! Okay guys...lets go to the community board and invade them there, it's our duty...right--our obligation to provide people with comfortable ugly shoes!!! :rotfl2:

Holy Crow! Who'd have thought that a site for shoes would get to be almost 30 pages? :cool1: I guess this is badly needed for all us sore-footed sorts ;) . Thanks, Dchef!
I wish they had them in lime green. Then maybe we could make them "the official WDW shoes of DISers".
After all these positive comments, I had to go out and buy a pair today. I also found them at my local Hallmark card and gift shop. I usually wear 7-7 1/2 shoes and I have very wide feet, so I wasn't sure they'd fit. First pair I tried on, size 6-7, fit perfectly!

When I bought my Crocs I was told that they are getting Lime Green in when the new sizes and colors come in. This is at a store near Charleston, S.Carolina, at a store called Palemto Moon....
They also said that they would be getting Fushia, and a few other new colors...
So I am now trying to deside if I should wait and get the new sized ones or go and get the old ones.... or some of both! :confused3 :rotfl2:
These really make the old saying that one can never have to many shoes a true statement!

Wow, we've come full circle...there's a whole new group of people who just started reading this thread. Previously, on "What CROCS did for me!"...

Lime green is coming, so say some previous posters. And yes, Hallmark stores in some parts of the country carry them. How odd.

Oh, and Zappos.com says they're getting more styles THIS MONTH! Can't wait!

Now, off to the Community board to spread the word....

I must no , make that I have too add to my collection of crocs!!!
Tomorrow I am off to check out the hallmark stores near me!!!!!! :flower:

I just wanted to update on the toddler sizes - I called and a rep told me that they were due out in MAY now, but to check and see mid-April if they are in. :(

They'd BETTER be!!!!! We leave May 7th :(

:rotfl2: That part there sounds like a soap opera!! No Doubt--but without all the drama, thank goodness. Too funny

Well, I'm a little late in reading this thread...got through about 20 pages, didn't read the last 10, but I did go out and buy some Crocs this past week at the Original Bass Pro here in Springfield, Missouri. Got the Beach Style khaki. Went to Silver Dollar City today and they were great! NO problems whatsoever! And, while my kids were playing in the Geyser Gulch area, I stood by a guy watching his kids & he had Crocs on too. We didn't speak, but we both looked at each other's shoes with that knowing look! ha ha. I think I will have to get my DH and kids some too! And, for all you people in Canada looking for them....mine say they were made in Canada at the bottom! Go figure!

OK, after reading this thread, I went to the Bass Pro Shop. The only color they had in my size was orange. I hate orange. My boys went nuts over them but they didn't have kid's sizes. So I ordered them off the web site. I got emerald, the boys got sage and butter. I called because of some confusion with the order. When I told the lady we were going to Disney on Saturday, she said she would call the warehouse to make sure there would be no problems shipping them out. They went out Friday and should be here Monday. The boys and I will wear them all week to make sure they will work for us at Disney. My DH thinks they are ugly but was amazed by 31 pages on the DIS raving about them.

Just returned from 8 days at Disney and the only shoes I wore were my crocs. I loved them. They were so comfortable on my feet. Never once did my feet hurt in any way. I am now a devoted Croc fan. :cheer2:

Which way did you wear them-with or without socks? I'm not so much concerned with being "fashionable", but I am concerned with comfort!

I tried some on yesterday.... the xs are a little too small and the s feel a little too big. I'm hoping they (s) will be okay. The store was down on their selection but the salesman told me they were getting in a big shipment on Wednesday so I'll go get mine and dd's then.
