What CROCS did for me!!

I just won my crocs on Ebay :cool1: I cant wait to get them. I got the Nile in Sea Blue :flower:

How the heck did that happen? Lucky you, congrats! I'm starting to break down a little and I'm convincing my DH that I should be getting these shoes for me and the girls. Hence needing to order online. Only problem is one of my girlies is still in the toddler sizes which are not available yet :(.

Ok, I just picked up a pair of red Crocs. :cool1: I was going to get the dark blue ones, but the kids really wanted mom to get the red ones. I figured they are pretty ugly to start with so I might as well just go all out.

My kids picked red for me too! :sunny:

How are these for narrow feet? I have extremely narrow feet and very high arches. I also have scoliosis and a limb length discrepancy, so I *have* to have comfortable shoes. I've tried all kinds of sandals and nothing has worked for me. Now I live in Merrels, I wear the memory foam slip ons around the house, the hiking tennies for most days out and the hiking ankle framed boots for rainy/wintery weather. I'd like to have some shoes that I can wear shorts or capris with, as it is I'm stuck to jeans because of the big shoes.

I haven't found a place to try these on here yet. Does anyone know if Dick's Sporting Goods carry them? I don't live near a Dillards or an REI.

Red sounds good!! I had a choice of green, white, and then pink! Green was dark, and didnt stand out as bad, but when I asked if he was sure he didnt have any other color, he went to the back and brought out pink :Pinkbounc ... How could a girl resist pink!! :rotfl:

Ugly/fugly.... my kids are just happy I'm not hobbling any!!

I went to a local dealer last night (Appalachian Outfitters) to check out the Crocs shoes. They only carry the Beach Crocs and the 8-9 was too small and the 10-11 was too big. The salesman asked me why I wanted those shoes and I told him that I heard they were comfortable shoes and wanted them for Walt Disney World. I told him that I wasn't sure the Beach Crocs was the style I wanted, but did want to try them on to see how they felt. He definitely was being very negative about them and said they were only meant for a beach shoe and that they weren't that comfortable and they were like a "clog" shoe and would not be the right shoe for WDW. He said I needed a shoe that gave me support. I told him that I have spent lots of money on "support" shoes for WDW and still get blisters....that I was game for something different. I told him that since he only carried the Beach style that I was really thinking about the next style up and wanted to try on a Crocs shoe before ordering them online. With that being said, he walked away from me but kept staring at me the whole time we were there. I did see some Treva sandals while I was there, but wasn't willing to try them on....2 reasons....I thought they were ugly (uglier than the Crocs! :teeth: ) and I didn't like the price tag of $90.

With everything being said, now I am confused on what to do! I go to WDW in June, August and December this year and was hoping to find a shoe that my feet will be comfortable in!

I looked at our Dick's Sporting Goods and they didnt have them. :( I never did find any to try on, I hope mine fit.

Has anyone tried the sandal type version? I think the name is Nile?

Believe it or not, my local Hallmark store is carrying the Beach version. I went by the other day and saw them, and of course had to try them on. I didn't buy any, because I really want the sandal type, but if I can't find them, I'll go back and get the Beach in blue.

I called our Dick's Sporting Goods, they said they werent scheduled to be in until May!

I also am considering getting the sandal version (they dont look near as ugly!) and you're right, they are definately a "beach" looking clog! Listed on the website of Croc's is a Marine Dealership - maybe you could find out if any marine stores near you carry them?

I have problem feet, bunions and arthritis these are those most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!!! I also have narrow feet and ordered the caymen style in a size 10 which is what I wear. They fit fine. The nile was too small in the size 10 though. My DD has them now and she is very happy ( she wore them to school yesterday)
We now both have happy feet!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Its all YOUR fault!! :rotfl2:

Yep, went to the mall, wearing shoes that were KILLING my feet!! Truly I cant stand - that darn bone spur/plantar thingy...

saw an "outdoor" shoe store... hmmm, wandered in, there are those UGLY shoes, tried them on (did I mention I'm a size 11!) ok, I took a L (as opposed to XL) and they feel, yes, feel, hmmm, I cant feel... pain... hmmm fine, but this white is awful.. any other color? GREEN... ew... ok, now what will I do?? LOOK< TEVA's on sale for $12.88!!! ALL RIGHT!! "Ma'am, we have a pink pair" my achilles heal - :rotfl2: I bought them!!! Pink Crocs :rotfl:

Got home, yep, they are still ugly , but DS, 19, "I understand mom, it'll be ok" :rotfl:

*sigh, ugly shoes... how I hate ugly shoes!!

Does anyone remember the scene in :rotfl: Moonstruck, where Cher buys her dress for the Opera? She has these AWESOME red shoes, as she sits drinking a glass of wine, contemplating her evening, looking at the shoes... :goodvibes

I'm so a shoe person, it breaks my heart when I wear shoes, the next day I need a cane to get around... so I bought the pink crocs, and the Tevas!! :rotfl2:

I hate the bone spur/plantar thing, too. I did get the cortisone shots in both heals last year and it was a huge help. My right heel took only one shot but my left heel took 2. However, I think i'm getting another one.

I also saw your post about Campmor and the mosquito netting. MY DS is a Boy scout, too and needed to get some for last years summer camp....they were right on the Chesapeake. We got ours at EMS Sports and know of others that got it at LLBEAN but it was super expensive and not the right kind for the tent. I wish I had thought about Campmor, though.

May I ask what size shoe you normally wear? I was going to order online but I was afraid of this exact thing. I'm a 9 almost all shoes.

I just talked to CROCS customer service yesterday about a delayed order and she informed me that they just changed the sizing for some styles (I ordered the Niles) to whole sizes, so they will now have size 7, 8, 9, 10, etc instead of 8/9, 10/11. She said that these should be ready to ship in a few weeks, and I would be contacted at that time to find out whether I wanted an 8 or a 9.

I didn't read every page of this thread so I apologize if this is repeat information.

now just waiting for it to come and try it out. I ordered the white in the 8/9 range for daughter and myself 10/11 range. I have slightly wide feet at the front and they get narrower at the heel. I also get blisters very easy. I hope that they are as good as everyone says they are.

If you want I can let you know about the Nile sandal. I checked e-bay for them and the price was around 28.00 and up. I ordered the Nile from the on-line store and they were 29.99 before shipping. If DH likes them I may order him a pair in black.

Well I've read the whole thread and I haven't seen a single man say he's wearing them. I did hear mention of somebody's DH and another mention of somebody's 81 year old father, but I haven't seen any men admit to wearing them. I'm not old, I'm not gay, I'm not a chef or a nurse, I just don't know if I can bring myself to wear these things. Still, foot comfort is a priority, so I'm going to head to REI and check them out.

Well... if this makes you feel any better.... My husband has cronic back problems (2 surgeries) and a cronic foot/ankle problem which he is out of work with. I told him about the Crocs and we went to the local store that sells them and he bought some for "around the house" to use as slippers since he needs support all of the time. At first he thought that they were horribly ugly and I could see him cringe when he tried them on, but I asked him the other day if he would wear them to our upcomig trip to Disney and he said 'heck ya... they are so great'. Of course he is wearing them with socks right now and there is no way I'm going to walk around with him wearing black Crocs and white long socks and shorts  :scared1:

I just can't wait until our store restocks so I can get myself some since they were out of most sizes and colors.

Justto let yo guys know. Solutions catalog carries sage, red and sea blue beach models.

I also just ordered a pair of the nile...I live in NYC and the beach model is like all the rage among the teens and 20 year olds!!!!!!!!! They give that surfer skater look..I saw tons of kids wearing them this past weekend and they even sell them at this "hangout" type of suf/skate shop by me...WHO NEW?

Ha, that's funny. Unfortunately, I'm not a teen surfer skater either. Not that it matters, generally I don't care what other people think. It will come down to what I think, but right now I think these things are ugly and I just don't know if I can do it. Do they look any better in person? That khaki color doesn't look too bad.
