What couldn't you stand to see, eat or smell while you were pregnant?

Inspired by luvmydogs favorite pregnancy foods.

What couldn't you stand? I had trouble with sight, smells and definitely couldn't eat some things.

Mine were: hot dogs, lunch meat, and peanut butter (and DS wanted PBJ for lunch every day. DH would make sandwiches so I'd only have to hand them over, but his breath was so peanuty!) Cooking meat smells sent me too.

1st pregnancy couldn't stand coffee, or smell of cooking meat
and spaghetti sauce among other things made me hurl

2nd time around coffee still stank
both times loved the smell of gasoline and cleaning products

Graham crackers!!
I spent a couple of weeks when I was about 2 months pg making graham cracker houses.....the smell really got to me.
Couldn't eat them for a couple of years after that.

Couldn't take even the smell of coffee or cigars.
Couldn't eat eggs.

Nachos - the kind with that liquid cheese over it. I was at the sprint car races with dh one night while pregnant (Ascot in Gardena, folks, anyone from California remember that place?) Anyway, he got some nachos and just the smell and sight of sickened me. To this day I cannot stand that smell or sight of that liquid cheese stuff. Prior to being pregnant I could at least sit next to someone who was eating it. Not now.

Do the IL's count?;) :teeth:

Seriously, I don't remember any foods affecting me in a bad way.

Well, my second pregnancy, I could barely stand to be in my apartment. There was some kind of herb or spice smell that apparently only I could smell, but it made me sick. I could barely stand it. I lost 10 lbs in the first 3 months and then only gained 14 lbs back. There wasn't much I could stand to eat, I ate a lot of grapefruit and pickles.

I couldn't stand spaghetti sauce, salsa, or cherry kool-aid. One time I saw a little piece of hamburger from dh's beef-a-roni floating in dishwater, and I threw up. GAAAACK!:crazy2:

Tunafish! It was so bad, my boys were in their teens and had tuna sandwiches at friends houses and wanted to know why we never had tuna! I just never got around to putting it on the menu!

Bobbi:D

nothing during #1 but Ground beef the smell of cooking burgers or beef for sauce or hamburg helper made me gag so bad that my (ex) hubby had to take over the cooking with windows open or when i was gone !! I could eat it though just not cook it. Michelle

I distinctly remember it being eggs.. I love eggs.. and I just couldn't stomach them. I have no problem now!

The first time, I couldn't stand the smell of meat, spaghetti sauce, and vegetables. The second time, I still couldn't stand to be around spaghetti sauce, and oranges really made me sick (well, everything made me sick, but the oranges were the worst).

I couldn't handle the scent "Eternity" by Calvin Klein. In fact, I still can't stand it! A lady in my office used to bathe in it. Each time she came into my office, my stomach turned.

With both DDs, I could not handle store bought/delivered pizza (sorry delswife!). I could make my own, but I couldn't order out!

My other big "trigger" was brushing my teeth. I already have a low tolerance on my gag reflex, and pregnancy made it even worse. Some days, brushing my back teeth sent me running from my bathroom sink to the toilet! Fortunately that teeth brushing issue was genenrally gone by 2nd trimester. It was a vicious circle: brush teeth, gag, puke, brush teeth to get rid of puke breath, gag, puke...you get the idea!

Garlic. I could not stand it. I loved the Olive Garden but could not eat there for 8 months.;)

PICANTE SAUCE!!!

I have always loved it, before and after being pregnant.... just not during!

Let's see...I could not stand to go anywhere near Burger King. The smell of peanut butter go to me and brushing my teeth was awful. Hubby could not order those McRibs that they used to make at McDonald's, and last but not least the smell, sight, and taste of boiled chicken!
