What couldn't you stand to see, eat or smell while you were pregnant?

Chili and kidney beans! If I smelled it, or saw it I was heaving. Even seeing kidney beans in a picture on the can made me sick!

For me it was minty things. Still can't handle them . Guess it was from sucking on mints during morning sickness. Also eggs cooking would send me running for the bathroom.

I one time had Chinese food for dinner when I was pregnant. I was so sick the next morning! Didn't touch it again until after baby was born. That was the only time I had morning sickness.

ewww, I had 9 months of SICK! I could stand the smell of anything! the only food I could eat (sometimes) was a thanksgiving meal. as for smells.LOVED coffee (do not drink it)
hated the smell of any food, it really made me sick. Smoke, forget it....and garlic.
needless to say it was not the best time I have ever had.;)

Raisins did me in. . .couldn't even look at them while I was pregnant and they never bothered me before or after. . .

With the twins I couldn't stand the smell of coffee....made me gag every time!
With the second pregnancy coffee was fine, but if I saw meat raw before it was cooked I couldn't eat it. I was fine if I didn't see it before it was cooked though.

especially cooked or on pizza just the smell would send me running. ewe it makes me uncomfortable just thinking about it.

The smell of coffee made me gag. My friends in the office brought in a cappuccino machine and I made them use it in the cafeteria because I couldn't make it through the morning if I had to smell it.

The other thing was cooking hamburger. To this day I still have a hard time smelling it. My DH was none too happy to have to make dinner whenever we had to brown hamburger.

Coffee. I couldn't smell it or clean out the coffee pot, made me sick every time.

Alfredo Sauce...the smell made me puke. Seriously.

Hamburger cooking and I couldn't go anywhere near the deli section of the super market because of the smell of all that lunch meat. I actually passed out in the deli section while I was pregnant, very embarassing. One second I was standing there waiting my turn and the next I woke up l on the floor with lots of strangers looking down at me.

OTOH I was never a coffee drinker but when I got pregnant I craved it big time and now I'm a coffee drinker. Go figure.

Hot Pockets. For some reason they made me sick. Dh and the kids would make them in the Microwave and I would have to go elsewhere.
In fact I was able to eat one the other day after 7 YEARS! (but it was pepperoni and its pizza, I tell ya'!)

When I was pregnant for the second time, my son was 2 1/2 years old. When he'd go outside to play and come back inside, he just had the little sweaty kid smell that would start me feeling queasy. I felt bad about because he was so adorable and would want hugs and I would feel like I was going to gag.

Two of my sisters were pregnant at the same time, and both decided to get new cabinets during their pregnancy. They went out seperately the same day to two different stores, and picked out the exact same cabinets. Then, when they had them installed, neither of them could open them because they couldn't stand the smell of the wood.

Neither of them could clip coupons while they were pregnant that time, either. The sight of all of the foods in the coupons made them feel so ill.

I can't stand air fresheners. The other day we went to a restaurant, my mom and my almost 4 year old, I took my ds into the bathroom b/c we both had to go but the smell of their automatic air freshener made me so sick I could barely finish peeing before I was getting sick. I ran to the sink, washed my hands and told my son grandma would be in to get him in a second (no one else in the bathroom at the time). My mom was sitting right outside the door, as we were leaving from here, and she went in to rescue my son so I could breathe the fresh air. But even the lysol, or room air freshners at home just about do me in.

the other thing that makes me gag is the sound of cooked chicken being torn apart. I had some left over chicken and I was making a chicken salad and I was just tearing the meat into pieces and the sound was awful. It was enough to make me think i should give up meat! Thankfully, I solved the problem by getting a really sharp knife and just chopped it!!

OMG - I gagged so many times reading this. Honestly, there have only been a couple things this pregnancy that have made me hurl.

1) Ramen Noodles. The thought just made me gag. Of course, the girls here at work, had just stocked up on them b4 I announced my pg, and they are sitting right out in the open. I hurl looking at them, smelling them, etc.

2) Pasta/Rice bowls. Same thing as Ramens.

3) Jolly Ranchers - used them for ms in the beginning of my pg - had too many. BLUCK!

4) Teeth Brushing - this morning, I didn't even have the brush to my mouth yet, and I puked in the sink. UGH! I just keep telling myself that I have only 24 weeks left :)

Wow! I'm surprised how many aversions to meat there were.

I proved that I could be a vegetarian during my pregnancy. ANY meat (not fish, but chicken, beef, pork, etc) made me so sick.

Mints... especially original altoids

Microwave Popcorn... YEEEUCK... someone burnt a bag up a work one day and I thought I was going to die. Especially since the microwave was on the way to the bathroom.

Wow! Lots of variety here, but also lots of recurring themes. :teeth:

I didn't mention when I started this thread that I worked in a preschool while I was pregnant with my first. Many days I thought I would die while the cooks were preparing lunch. The smells of cooking meat would fill the whole school. Hot dog days were the worst. I couldn't see or smell a hot dog without running for the bathroom. I should have just taken a day off whenever they appeared on the menu. Just the thought of them made me sick. DH said hot dogs always made him want to hurl and he WASN'T pregnant. :teeth:
