But krazykollector, who I was responding to, was responding to happygirl's comment about driving and not remembering part of the drive. We weren't talking about the OP's situation.

I think the confusion is because Happy Girl made her comment as a reason that the OP shouldn't worry (and that all the other posters were wrong about their concern). For posters, that would mean using a example that actually relates to the OP. Clearly not the case here.

Personally, I have a very difficult time believing that someone who has pre-existing health conditions and is capable of college level coursework could believe that it was acceptable to not seek medical treatment for this.

I don't think "zoning out" while driving is uncommon. Should you do it? No. Does it happen? Yes

But I've never heard of anyone mistaking the accelerator for the brake and accelerating to twice the speed limit while zoning out.

Aren't we beating a dead horse on this thread anyway? The OP said she wasn't going to the doctor, is going to continue driving, and her mother told her not to worry about it. If the OP doesn't care about her own life or the lives of others she could be endangering, repeatedly badgering her on here isn't going to make a difference.

Because it's hard to believe that you are a reaonably minded adult. Believing you made this up is actually better than the truth. At least if you were fabricating this scenario, it would be no harm to anyone.

I have no idea if the OP is still reading. Anyway, to the OP - you can do whatever you want with your life and health. Play Russian roulette with your life. Have at it. Your body, your right.

However, your right ends when you get in that car and endanger me, my family and everyone else on the road. To not take into consideration that fact that you could cause a potentially fatal situation to others is selfish and dangerous. The fact that your mother doesn't seem to be concerned over this latest incident is sheer lunacy. What reality do you guys live in that any of this is remotely ok?

FWIW-the OP just posted over on coping and compassion that they had another episode and have to now see a neurologist and they are "scared". Go figure........ugh.

I'll admit that when I was in college there were probably things I didn't deal with as promptly as I should have. Let's not be too hard on her, she's going to a neurologist today.

Hopefully (and I say this for anyone reading in the future, not to shame the OP) she didn't loose valuable treatment time w/ whatever is causing this.

At least if she's seeing a neurologist, I would assume the doctor would have some say over the OPs ability to drive again if there really is a serious issue going on.

According to her post in the "How Fast Do You Drive" thread, she's still driving. Forty-four states require someone with seizures to report their condition to the DMV. The other six require the physician to report.

I'm sensitive to this issue because my nephew developed epilepsy when he was in college. It can start at any time during your life, not just in childhood. He did go on to have grand mal seizures.

I wasn't going to mention that to the OP because I don't want to be an alarmist. But she should have been concerned the first time.
