WHAT could POSSIBLY....

" Did you recently break-up with an ex-boyfriend?"[/i] Uhhhh, I'm 52 and have been happily married for over 26 years...DUH!
I know you are upset, but why is it a "duh" question for the police to ask you if you had recently broken up with a boyfriend? The police officer probably doesn't know you or anything about your personal life and being 52 does not mean that you could not have an angry ex-boyfriend...

Sorry about the car though...that stinks...

Oh Kim I am so sorry  What a freakin nightmare! Nobody else in the neighborhood was hit , just you? I hope they are able to figure out who did this and punish them. That kinda stuff makes me wanna beat someone in the head with a baseball bat  I hate vandalism!!!!!! We have problems ( not to that extent, yet at least) with kids respecting other peoples property here and it drives me nuts.

...I suppose that you are right, but I DO live in a fairly small town, where almost everyone knows everyone...and this officer knows my DH...it just seemed like an odd question to me, at the time...

...you know, the fact that my car was keyed doesn't even bother me as much as the word they inscribed...my DH and DS's were FURIOUS!

This happened to my husband's car in a parking lot last year. It's such a random act... I am sorry you have to go through this. It truly does stink. Good Luck!

Kim - i am so sorry to hear what happened to your car and to your feelings! Knowing you as i do, i can't imagine any students having such negative feelings that they would do this. Any chance it is someone your ds knows, or just a neighborhood kid?
Problem is kids don't always think before they act, as we well know, and their poor decisions have lasting effects (the side of your car!)
Hope this week is a better one and the car is quickly repaired. C

I think I know who did it -- GP. :rotfl:

Sorry, just thought you could use a chuckle. That really stinks, big time. If it was one of your students, I'm sure they won't be able to keep it to themselves and word will get around. Then the problem will be in convincing the parents of that particular snowflake that they are financially responsible. Had it just been keyed, I'd think it could have been anyone, but the added word, leads me to believe it's more personal.

Hang in there Kimmar.

Kimmar - I'm so sorry. The only time I had my car keyed was when it was leased (at the mall parking lot). Fortunately, it wasn't that bad and didn't go over the allowable damage when I turned it in. But it really irked me.

People can be such jerks...

As far as driving it until it is fixed, can't you put a piece of contact paper over the word? Then at least you can still drive it.

Welcome to planet Earth. Where people do horrible things to other people for no reason.

It really sucks.

Yeah that makes it seem a lot less random. I'm so sorry Kim

That's sad and true. I still think we should be allowed to beat these people with baseball bats :rolleyes1

So sorry to hear about this! It makes you feel so helpless in your own home...

I was going to suggest covering it, or get some of that colored car wax that matches your car and it should fill it in okay.

They may not have to repaint it...shouldn't be an expensive fix. Probably just can buff it out.

I am so sorry, hon. What a senseless thing to do.

Can you get some contact-type paper that sticks onto a smooth surface without adhesive*? That way you can still drive it without compromising the insurance-claims and upcoming paint-work.

agnes!
